Chapter 503
By the time Charlie arrived, Sierra was no longer in the main hall
Seeing Peter sitting there with a sour look on his face, Charlie anked in a casual tone. “Dedert day say ng nasa were the is she?”

and the look he gave Charlie was no friendlier.
Charlie did not ask anything else as he simply walked over and sat downs
“You’re not going to go see her?” Peter tried to stir things up. “That niece of ours has quite a temper. The vertly the bene
“That’s a good thing.” Charlie did not let a thing show on his face. “A young woman with a tenger offers less sout
Peter’s expression darkened even more. He didn’t even care that Charlie was the head of the family and that at Tips two of us here, so drop the act. You’re the one who doesn’t want Anna and Sierra back in the King family more time right?”
“They’re part of the King family in the first place. Why wouldn’t I want them back? Charlie never showed even a time of wh he was really thinking.
“How fake!” Peter let out a scoff. “When Dad tells you to sell the shares that used to belong to Anna back to her daughter a he original price, let’s see if you can still stay this calm.”
Charlie looked at him. “Won’t you have to give up your shares too?”
“My portion is so small it barely matters.” Peter still looked frivolous and unserious. “You’re the one holing the biggest da
”
Charlie’s expression grew deeper and harder to read, and what he said was the opposite of what he truly felt. “Those shares belonged to Anna in the first place.”
Peter smiled.
Indeed, they had belonged to Anna.
Without Anna, there would be no King Group today. The King family might even have fallen out of the ranking of the four major families long ago.
But after spending too many years in a world ruled by power and profit, people stopped wanting to let go. Once those shares were handed to Sierra, Charlie would be little more than a figurehead in the family. Even Maxwell’s position would be affected by that.
Charlie would never hand over those shares.
Everyone knew it, including Cyrus.
As Cyrus looked at the young woman walking beside him, all kinds of complicated feelings rose in his heart. In the end, he forced them all down.
“This was Ms. Anna’s room,” Alfred said as he showed it to Sierra. “Nothing inside has been touched. You can go in and have a look.”
Sierra reached out and gently pushed the door open.
The room had a classical layout. The desk and wardrobe were all made of dark wood. Everything had been cleaned so well there was not a speck of dust anywhere.
Alfred then added, “Mr. Cyrus never trusted anyone else to clean it. So, he has always done it himself all these years.

Cyrus tapped him with his cane. “Did anyone ask you to talk so much?”
The old butler gave a light cough.
So Cyrus could do it, but no one was allowed to say it. Sierra looked at the elderly man, his temples already streaked with gray.
Not wanting her to feel pressured, Cyrus added, “I have nothing to do at home anyway. I might as well give myself something to do.”
Sierra said nothing. She could more or less guess why he had insisted on cleaning the room himself.
Longing and guilt.
He missed his daughter, and he felt guilty for driving her away.
“This room has always been kept for her. She can come back whenever she wants.” In the end, Cyrus still said it aloud. “This place would always be her home.”
