Cyrus gave Alfred a look, and he then took the envelope from Charlie and placed it in Sierra’s hand. The moment she felt its weight, Sierra realized this uncle of hers would not be someone easy to deal with.
“Those are your Uncle Charlie’s wife, Vivian, and Uncle Peter’s wife, Jennifer,” Cyrus went on.
Sierra looked over.
Both women were poised and elegant, calm and dignified.
“Aunt Vivian, Aunt Jennifer,” she greeted politely.
“You’ve probably already met the others. Joey, Loren, and Maxwell.” Cyrus introduced them one by one without missing anyone. “You’re all from the same generation. Spend more time together from now on.”
Sierra’s gaze settled on Loren, whom she had never met before. He wore a black suit, neat and proper. He did not have Maxwell’s cold, distant air, and he seemed much easier to get along with.
According to Joey, what happened to her mother back then had been planned by Charlie, Maxwell, and Loren together.
Even now, Maxwell had not shown a single opening. Aside from wanting her to give up the shares, there was nothing anyone could criticize in the way he handled things, whether in his usual attitude toward her or in how he treated Anna.
“Hello, little cousin,” Loren said.
Sierra stayed polite but distant. “Hello, cousin Loren.”
“If you ever need anything, just call me.” Loren’s tone was warm, and when he looked at her, it was simply the look of an older
sin toward a younger cousin. “I may not be as capable as Maxwell, but I’m not completely useless.”
said that, he glanced at Joey.

the useless one.” Joey managed an easy grin. “You’ll have to look after me from now on.”
Everyone fell silent, so did Cyrus.
Cyrus could not help scolding him. “Can you show a little ambition at least?”
“Come on, Grandpa.” Joey’s lazy tone did not change no matter who he was talking to. “If everyone turned out capable, who would you use as a bad example when you’re lecturing others?”
Cyrus shot him a disappointed look.
After Joey cut in, the mood at the table eased quite a bit. Everyone ate together pleasantly, and nothing underhanded happened from beginning to end, as if they all truly welcomed Sierra.
But Sierra knew it was all an act.
Charlie and Peter did not welcome her at all.
An hour later, dinner was over.
Looking at everyone there, Cyrus said, “Since everyone’s here, there’s something I want to announce.”
All eyes turned to him. After waiting a month, everyone already knew what he was about to say.
“According to the agreement from more than twenty years ago, Anna’s child has the right to buy back the shares that were sold

back then at the original price.” As Cyrus spoke, his expression grew more solemn. “Fifteen percent from Charlie, and five percent from Peter.”
Charlie and Peter exchanged a glance.
After what happened earlier, Peter was the first to speak. “I have no objection. Whenever Charlie hands over his, I’ll hand over mine.”
A trace of darkness passed through Charlie’s eyes, but it vanished in an instant.
“Dad, isn’t that a little unfair?” Vivian spoke up. The detachment in her eyes when she looked at Sierra was plain for all to see.” Charlie worked hard to build this company for more than twenty years. Handing it over just like that to a young woman like her
doesn’t make sense.”
Cyrus’s expression darkened at once.
As if he did not know Charlie was the one who pushed her to say it!
“In what way doesn’t it make sense?” Sierra said.

Chapter 506
“You uncle Charlie has been the one managing the company for all these years. He had only passed things to your cousin Maxwell in the last two years,” Vivian said. “You’ve done nothing, yet you want to take them back? That’s basically getting them for free. Who sells something, then gets to buy it back twenty years later at the original price? If you want the shares, fi Buy them at market price.”
Cyrus was on the verge of losing his temper.
Sierra looked at Charlie and Peter. “Do both of you think that too?”
Anna’s shares had been split between her two uncles. Sierra wanted to hear what they would say.
Peter said nothing.
Charlie had far more to lose in this matter than he did. If anyone was going to speak first, it should have been Charlie. “Of course not. We’ll do exactly what the agreement says.” Charlie was very good at saying the right things. “Pick a time. We make the transfer whenever it’s convenient for you.”
