Chapter 573
Over the next few days, Sierra went to the hospital every day to visit John just as she had promised. Sometimes, she would chat with him for a while. Before she knew it, those days had passed by and it was time for him to get discharged.
When she saw him changing into his own clothes, Sierra said to Kenneth, “I’ve done everything you asked. I hope you’ll keep your promise when the time comes.”
“No problem,” Kenneth agreed at once.
Sierra gave him a quiet nod and said nothing else. When she left, she didn’t even say goodbye to John.
As John watched her walking into the distance, his eyes darkened as the emotions inside stirred.
Seeing that, Kenneth muttered to Robin, “If Sierra is having dinner with someone else later, arrange for your boss to have dinner at the same place too. Just keep the timing right and don’t let them sit too close.”
“Got it,” Robin said.
Over the past few days, it had been obvious from the things John had him do that he wanted to protect Sierra in secret. Now that he had finally figured things out, Robin was not about to get in his way. He was John’s personal assistant after all.
As soon as John finished changing, he noticed the two of them whispering, but he did not pay them
much attention.
He asked Robin, “How’s that thing I asked you to sort out a few days ago coming along?”
“Everything is ready,” Robin answered quickly.
“Right.” John fastened his watch and got ready to leave.
Robin called out to him. “Sir.”
John turned to look at Robin.
Robin then reported, “Your parents asked you to return to the Henderson Residence. They said they want to discuss something with you.”
“Didn’t I tell you to ignore their messages?” John said.
“It’s a little different this time as they mentioned Ms. Bell,” Robin said truthfully. “They also said that if you refuse to go back, they’ll have no choice but to talk to your older brother.”
John’s eyes turned dark.
Robin asked, “Are you going back to the family estate, then?”
John’s answer never changed. “No.”

“Understood,” Robin nodded.
“Have people keep an eye on them for now. If they make any move against Sierra, deal with it immediately,” John said. “Don’t let them cause her any trouble.”
“Understood.” Robin had always been reliable when it came to handling these things. “But Solomon…”
Even though Solomon was not the president of Henderson Group, his methods and abilities were on par with John’s. If he wanted to do something, Robin might not be able to find out in time.
“Your parents called him back to the family estate a few days ago and talked to him about something. We couldn’t find out what,” Robin said. “If it was aimed at Ms. Bell…”
John fell silent. A moment later, he said, “He won’t.”
Robin tested the waters. “This is a critical moment for him to take your position. There’s no guarantee he won’t do something extreme.”
“Just keep an eye on their movements,” John said.
If Solomon had no weakness, he might have used Sierra against him. But Solomon did have one. He had been with Tammy for three years. If he felt nothing for her, he would not have reacted the way he had before.
Robin trusted John’s judgment. “Understood.”
After that, Sierra and John did not see each other again, even though they were still in the same city. John was still dealing with his insomnia and he still could not eat much, but he was already doing much better compared to earlier.
As for Sierra, she finished writing the proposals for the neighboring city and Jade City projects.
On weekdays, she went with Marcus to meet people over meals and talk through the situation. On weekends, she would fly back to Harbor City to spend time with Tommy.
Her days were busy, but fulfilling.
One day, Sierra had a dinner meeting with a hospital executive from Jade City. During the meal, she introduced the scale of her company and gave a brief overview of its previous projects. The two sides had a very pleasant conversation.
