Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 576

Tammy instinctively stepped in front of Sierra and forced herself to speak through the fear in her chest. "Mr. Sunderland, she's just passing by. I'm willing to take the blame for anything."

She had been too panicked to think a moment ago.

Only now did she remember that Sierra and John were already divorced, and the Bell family was in the middle of going bankrupt. If this man set his sights on Sierra too, Tammy would never forgive herself.

"Have your friend come in and drink a couple of glasses with me, and I won't hold you responsible for what happened just now." Mr. Sunderland looked calm and reasonable on the surface. "How about it?"

Before Tammy could answer, Marcus said sternly, "My boss doesn't drink."

Mr. Sunderland looked even more interested. "So she's a lady boss?"

"A boss is a boss. Why add the word lady as a pre-fix?" Marcus said.

"I'm just surprised. Most women stay home taking care of their husbands and children." Mr. Sunderland kept looking at Sierra and Tammy. He had always liked gorgeous women. "Your boss must be very capable for her to reach the height she had reached."

He put deliberate weight on the word capable.

"She is," Marcus said, deliberately taking it at face value. "Otherwise, she wouldn't have become the future heir of both the King family and the Lynch family."

Mr. Sunderland paused.

He frowned slightly. "The King family and the Lynch family?"

Marcus's expression did not change. He still wore the same mechanical look.

"I forgot to introduce her. My boss is Sierra Bell. Her mother is Anna Bell. Her ex-husband is John Henderson. Her biological father is Nathan Lynch. Her adoptive father is Lucas Bell. Her grandfather is Cyrus King. Her cousin Maxwell King is the CEO of King Group..."

He went down the list in one breath.

Sierra fell silent.

After a brief pause, she decided to let Marcus keep talking. If those identities could solve the problem, then so be it.

"Of course not. Please." Mr. Sunderland felt a little better because of her polite tone. "What happened in the private room just now was my fault. I failed to keep myself in check, and I frightened Ms. Wood."

"Keep yourself in check next time," Sierra said. No one could read anything from her calm eyes.

Mr. Sunderland kept up the act well. "Of course, of course."

Sierra gave a quiet hum and left with Tammy and Marcus.

Mr. Sunderland watched them go. Sierra had seemed fairly calm just now, so the panic in his chest slowly eased. He turned to his secretary and bodyguards and said, "Let's go."

The moment Sierra got into the car with Tammy, Marcus, who was driving, asked, "Boss, are we really going to let this drop?"

As far as he knew, Sierra hated men like that. But just now, she had barely reacted. She had not even seemed angry, which was unusual.

"Who said I dropped this?" Ever since Sierra became independent, the way she handled things had changed too.
