Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 594

Sierra felt the same way when Marcus mentioned how Maxwell was probably dragged into what happened to her mother. Because Joey couldn't remember the full conversation from back then, she had no way to be sure.

After seeing the outsiders off, Sierra walked back into her home. The moment she stepped inside, she remembered there was still one unexpected guest in the house.

"Want some fruit?" Nathan was holding a platter of freshly cut fruit. There was plenty of variety, too.

Sierra refused. "No."

Nathan did not look disappointed at all. He picked up the conversation naturally. "I'll take it upstairs to your mother. She has been busy all afternoon, so she's probably a little hungry by now."

Sierra gave Nathan a quiet nod.

If Nathan had not hurt her mother back then, she would have fully supported the two of them getting together.

But there were things in this world that once lost, could never be made whole again no matter what one did.

About half an hour later, Sierra had dinner with Anna and Tommy.

She had thought Nathan would stay and eat with them, but he had already left by the time dinner was served. It was almost as if he really did see himself as her mother's subordinate.

"What is it?" Anna noticed her distracted expression.

Sierra shook her head. "Nothing."

Anna could guess it anyway. "Is it because of Nathan?"

Sierra pressed her lips, weighing in her mind how to say what she wanted to say.

"You don't need to hold back. You can say or ask whatever you want," Anna said sincerely. "If there's something I don't want to answer, I'll tell you directly."

"There's something that has bothered me for a long time."

Only after seeing the way Nathan and her mother were with each other today did Sierra remember something from long ago.

"What is it?" Anna asked.

"Before you woke up, Jubilee mentioned Nathan to me. What she basically meant was that he let you down and married someone else. His guilt toward you only comes from the fact that he regretted everything after realizing the woman he married wasn't as good as you," Sierra said.

Sierra nodded.

Tommy, who had been quietly eating beside them, suddenly looked up and asked, "What should I call Mr. Lynch when I see him then?"

Anna thought it over for a moment. "Whatever you want. Grandpa, Mr. Lynch... Both are fine."

By blood, Grandpa was the right title. But even if they did not consider their social hierarchy by bloodline, Nathan was old enough to be Tommy's grandfather.

"Then what about Cyrus?" Tommy asked again.

Anna answered, "Great Grandpa."

Tommy nodded, feeling that made sense.

Compared to the peace on this side, Charlie was practically bubbling with rage.

The moment he got home, he flew into a fury and smashed the vase that was on the cabinet. Just like that, tens of thousands were gone.
