Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 646

Sierra noticed John's gaze. "Let's go to study, then?"

"Sure," John nodded.

The two went one after the other. Once they reached the study, they sat together on the sofa, and John chatted with her.

They did not talk about anything important, but the quiet, comfortable atmosphere eased all of John's exhaustion. He himself knew better than anyone how important Sierra was to him. As long as he was with her, his whole heart relaxed before he even noticed.

She was irreplaceable, someone he would give up everything for.

"Sierra," John suddenly called out to her.

Sierra looked up. "Yeah?"

His dark eyes were full of affection, and she was the only person inside of them as he said, "I love you."

Sierra froze.

She hadn't expected him to confess so suddenly. They were simply having a chat just now, weren't they?

"Do you prefer Jade City or Harbor City?" John did not give her time to react or feel flustered. After confessing, he changed the subject, as if what he had said was nothing unusual.

Sierra casually said, "Both are fine."

No one liked an unfamiliar city, but she didn't want John to know that.

Jade City held the life and memories she had grown up with since she was a child, while Harbor City carried her current life and growth. Both cities meant a great deal to her, and she got used to living in Harbor City too.

If she had to choose one place to settle down for good, she would still choose Jade City.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.

"Boss, it's already late..."

After the knocking, Marcus opened the door and walked in. However, the rest of his sentence was cut off when he saw John. His expressionless eyes landed on John with a hint of suspicion.

"What are you doing here?"

"He has something to discuss with me," Sierra said.

Marcus asked, "What is it?"

"You two..." Sierra wanted to tell them not to be reckless this late at night.

"We'll have a chat and come back up," John said, his emotions steady, without any visible anger. "For the sake of your and Tommy's safety, I'll see what kind of person he is."

"You should sleep early," Marcus also reminded her. "I'll finish beating him up soon."

Sierra was speechless.

Forget it.

No point at being bothered.

They were two grown men, not children. They should know their limits.

Not long after they went downstairs, Sierra left the study too. When she passed by Tommy's room, his head suddenly popped out from behind the doorway. "Mom."

"Oh?" Sierra stopped and looked at him. "Why aren't you asleep yet?"

"Where's Dad?" Tommy asked.
