Chapter 304
Aaron POV
She moves fast. Her body is almost a blur as she dodges and weaves, every movement precise and calculated. She holds her own against the warrior, refusing to back down, showing no hesitation whatsoever. I’ve never felt such admiration or pride before. Asher has become a formidable opponent, and it’s all thanks to Marissa’s training (I had never thought Asher could come so far in such a small amount of time, but she’d managed it through hard work and persistence.
She uses her opponent’s body weight against them and throws them over her shoulder, their body hitting the ground with a heavy thud and making her the victor.
She makes it look effortless.
Marissa smirks beside me, clutching her child, a look of satisfaction on her face.
“I told you she was amazing,” she said with pride.
I can’t take my eyes off her. Asher spots me and walks over, breathing heavily, her body drenched in sweat.
I grab her and kiss her hard, her body melting against me.
Marissa’s child wrinkles his nose, and I laugh as Marissa subtly moves off, leaving Asher and me alone.
“You owe me an answer,” I said, pulling back and gazing deeply into her eyes.
She sighs.
It’s become a ritual between us now. I ask, and she refuses. I refuse to give up, though. I want the world to know she’s mine, and I’m patient.
I know eventually she’ll agree.
“What is this rush to get married?” she said with a sigh. “Aren’t you happy with the way things are?”
“Of course I’m happy, but I would be a lot happier if you would marry me and become my wife,” I said firmly.
“Marriage is just paper; it doesn’t mean anything as much as marking each other.”
