Asher POV
The wedding ceremony was small and intimate, exactly the way I'd described and imagined. I walked down the aisle, bouquet in hand and a white dress that showed off the slight bulge of my stomach. There was no pretense, no luxuries. Just simple decorations and a rose arbor on the grounds where Aaron stood in a suit with Damien by his side, waiting for me.
Aaron reached for me the moment I made it, and I let him hold me, my eyes sparkling.
I barely acknowledged the minister or the words I repeated. My entire focus was on this moment, this occasion I had never dreamed of happening before.
On the man who had turned my world upside down and made it better, the man who had saved me from an abusive Alpha and who would do anything to keep me safe.
A man who was going to be the best father in the world as far as I was concerned.
"You may now kiss the bride."
It wasn't a soft kiss. It wasn't a mere peck on the lips either. Aaron dipped me in his arms and kissed me like a man who was starving for a taste of my lips. My face flamed bright red even as Damien and Marissa laughed in the background.
Aaron pulled back, and I straightened up, my hair dishevelled, my dress askew, and my cheeks a rosy pink.
"Husband and wife," he whispered in my ear, "finally. You have no idea how happy you've made me."
He put his hand on the swell of my stomach, his eyes filled with longing.
"A wife and a baby on the way," his voice cracked, "I never imagined I would be a father, let alone find my fated mate, and now I have both."
"You are my everything," he breathed as I looked deeply into his eyes, "you are the girl who turned my world upside down and made me think that everything I ever wanted was possible. From the very first moment I laid eyes on you, I loved you."
I felt tears threatening to fall from my eyes.
Everything he said was so poetic and so genuine.
"I love you," I whispered back. "You are the only man I will ever want and the only man I will ever love," I promised thickly.
He swallowed hard.
I noticed that Damien and Marissa had made their escape.
The reception was large, specifically arranged to make up for the small ceremony.
