Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 305

Chapter 305

“What if I’m not enough for you? What if we realize we aren’t compatible years from now?”

“That’s not going to happen,” my voice was confident, “because I’m utterly and hopelessly in love with you. The moon goddess doesn’t make mistakes, Asher, and I’ve never questioned that you’re mine. I’ve never needed to ”

She bit her lip, her eyes still shining.

“But I don’t even know if you want a family or if we will live in our own house or….” she trailed off.

I grabbed her hand and squeezed it, looking lovingly at her.

She was finally opening up to me and admitting what she had been holding back.

“I want what you want. If you don’t want to continue living in the packhouse, then we’ll build our own home. If you want children, I want children. I love kids,” I told her solemnly, “always have, but we’ll have them when you’re ready, not before. I won’t pressure you, I won’t force you. We make decisions together, Asher; that’s what husbands and wives do.”

She gave a tremulous smile.

“You make it sound so easy.”

“It’s not easy. There’ll be times when we argue, times when it gets hard and we have to forge a way through it. There’ll be times when pack responsibilities take a lot of my time, and it feels like I’m neglecting you. We’ll have our ups and downs, just like any marriage.”

“You’re a realist,” she laughed.

“I am, but I also know what I want from life. Asher and marriage and children are just the beginning. I want to build a future with you. I want to grow old and hold our grandchildren in our arms. I want to spend my nights making love to you and holding you in my arms. I want to be the only man in your life, the one you can depend on and rely on for the rest of your life. I want everything you will give me, Asher, and I will never take it for granted. Not intentionally.”

“Aaron,” she whispered.

“I want what Marissa and Damien have. A friendship and a marriage. I want to be able to look at you every day, and I want to be able to kiss you whenever I want. I want the kind of love that lasts and whatever it takes, I’ll work at it to give us just that. Give me a sign, anything, that you’ll consider marrying me,” I tried not to beg, “some hint.”

She sighed and then smiled widely at me.

“I guess it’s a good thing you like children,” she rasped.

I looked at her, confused. Of all the things I thought she might say, it hadn’t been that. She reached for my hand and then slowly put it against her stomach.
