Rejected by My Husband, Cherished by the Don novel Chapter 22

Chapter 22

Although the situation had already escalated to this point, Stefano and Salvatore still believed the lies that Antonia had fed them, believing that I was an illegitimate daughter.

The corners of my lips curled up into a smile as I looked at them mockingly.

“Stefano and Salvatore, neither of you are fit to love another person considering how you fail to show basic trust.”

I clapped my hands after I was done speaking, prompting half of the guests at the venue to stand up. These people held different positions of power within The Rosas.

Dad’s face contorted into a grimace. He leaped to his feet as well and roared, “What do you think you’re doing?”

They ignored him. Instead, they looked at me and nodded their heads respectfully before saying in unison in loud and clear voices, “Welcome back, Ms. Leone.”

Dad’s expression morphed into an upset one. He pointed at me with widened eyes as a hoarse, gurgling sound emanated

from his throat.

I smiled as I lifted a USB drive into the air before handing it to one of my subordinates.

“It seems like Dad has forgotten his place after handling The Rosas for so many years. Why don’t I help you jog your memory?”

My subordinate strode away before Dad could stop him.

It didn’t take long before a letter of guarantee was displayed on the massive screen in the venue. It was the same letter that Dad had signed to get Grandpa to lend him his assistance to establish The Rosas.

The letter clearly stated that The Rosas solely belonged to Mom, while Dad only had the authority to take charge of it on behalf of the actual owners. In the future, only the child sired by Mom and Dad had the right to become the successor.

The next slide showed two marriage certificates. The first one belonged to Dad and Mom, while the second one belonged to

Dad and his current wife.

He and Mom had gotten married a whole decade earlier than his second wife.

It hadn’t been easy for me to locate the contents of the following slide-surveillance footage that proved that Antonia had framed me by claiming that I had pushed her off the bridge.

The footage clearly showed that I hadn’t laid a finger on Antonia. She was the one who jumped off the bridge of her own accord, and she had nearly dragged me down with her.

Dad’s face had turned ashen. He stared at Antonia in disbelief before he directed his gaze toward me. A mixture of regret, resentment, and a hint of heartache shone in his eyes.

However, his reaction didn’t mean anything to me anymore. I no longer cared about what he thought. From the moment he brought Antonia and her mother back home, he had already cemented his status as a bad father.

I lost my dad on the same day Mom left the house.

I calmly watched as Dad collapsed to the floor right in front of me.

The venue was thrown into chaos as Antonia’s fiance abandoned her and took his leave.

Antonia and her mother were terrified as they clutched Dad, who was suffering a stroke. They let out anguished wails and were at a loss for what to do.

Under the protection of my subordinates, my expression remained unchanged as I announced that I would be taking charge

of The Rosas.

The guests began to leave one after the other. The engagement that Antonia had depended on to change her fate had ended up with her becoming the laughingstock of the city.

Chapter 2

I was in high spirits as I looked at Antonia’s and her mother’s pathetic appearances.

“Let me give you a reminder out of the goodness of my heart, Antonia, You’d better move out of the house by tonight. I don’t make a habit of taking care of my enemies.”

Antonia shot to her feet and glared at me with hatred burning in her eyes.

“Why?” she demanded. “You already have everything, Regina! Why did you take this away from me too?”
