Rejected Me Once Never Fool Me Twice (Watt) novel Chapter 46

Chapter 46

The days after our perfect outing with Louis seemed to pass in a blissful haze. Life had never felt so complete- our little family thriving, our bond stronger than ever. But as fate would have it, another beautiful surprise was waiting just around the corner.

I found out I was pregnant again.

The realization hit me one morning when I woke up feeling unusually exhausted. At first, I brushed it off as just another busy day catching up to me, but when the nausea struck, I knew something was different. A small smile played on my lips as I stared at the test in my hand. Positive.

Zander was in the other room playing with Louis when I walked in, my heart racing with anticipation. Louis giggled as his father tossed him in the air, their laughter filling the room like music. For a moment, I simply stood there, watching them, overwhelmed with love.

“Hey, love,” Zander said when he finally noticed me. His eyes instantly filled with concern. “Are you okay? You look pale.”

I took a deep breath before stepping forward, placing the pregnancy test in his palm. His brows furrowed in confusion before realization dawned on his face.

“Serene… are you-?” His voice was almost a whisper.

I nodded, and a bright, wide grin spread across his face. “We’re having another baby?”

“Yes,” I çonfirmed, laughing as he pulled me into a tight embrace, spinning me around. Louis clapped his hands, not knowing exactly what was happening but joining in on the excitement nonetheless.

“Another little one,” Zander whispered against my hair. “You have made me the happiest man, Serene.”

The pregnancy was a journey filled with love, excitement, and a few challenges. This time, we knew what to expect, but it didn’t make the experience any less magical.

Zander was even more protective than before. He would fuss over me, ensuring I had enough rest, that I properly, and that I didn’t lift a single thing heavier than a pillow. Even when I insisted I was fine, he wo shoot me a look that said otherwise.

Louis was just as excited. Every day, he would come up to me, resting his tiny hands on my belly and talking to his unborn sibling.

“Baby, I love you already,” he would say, pressing gentle kisses to my stomach. “I can’t wait to be the best big brother ever!”

It was in moments like these that my heart felt like it could burst from happiness.

The months passed, and my belly grew, marking the progress of our growing family. The pack was thrilled, celebrating every milestone with us. Our home was filled with warmth, laughter, and the anticipation of meeting our little one.

As the due date approached, Zander became even more attentive, rarely leaving my side. Every small discomfort I experienced had him on high alert, ready to rush me to the healer if necessary.

And then, finally, the day arrived.

It started in the early hours of the morning. A sharp pain woke me, and I instinctively knew-it was time. I shook Zander gently, and his eyes snapped open instantly, filled with worry and alertness.

“Zander,” I breathed. “The baby is coming.”

His reaction was immediate. In a flash, he was up, calling for the pack healer while helping me sit up comfortably. Louis, still asleep, remained undisturbed as chaos ensued around us. The pack warriors stood ready, ensuring we had a clear path to the pack’s medical wing.

“Breathe, love, just breathe,” Zander encouraged, his grip firm but gentle on my hand as he helped me into the

car.

The drive to the pack’s clinic was a blur of pain and anticipation. Once we arrived, the healer wasted no time, ushering me into a private room as the contractions grew stronger. Zander stayed by my side, whispering words of encouragement, kissing my forehead between contractions, and holding my hand as I squeezed it with every wave of pain.

Hours passed, and the pain became nearly unbearable, but I focused on the goal-on the tiny life waiting to come into the world.

And then, finally, a powerful cry echoed through the room.

Tears streamed down my face as the healer placed a tiny, beautiful baby girl in my arms. Her dark curls framed her small face, and the moment she opened her bright blue eyes-Zander’s eyes-I knew she was perfect.

“Winter Elora McLean,” I whispered, brushing a gentle finger against her soft cheek. “Welcome to the world, my love.”

Zander, tears glistening in his eyes, kissed both me and our daughter. “She’s beautiful, just like her mother.”

Louis entered the room moments later, his little face lighting up as he saw his baby sister. Carefully, he climb onto the bed beside me, staring in awe at the tiny bundle in my arms.
