11.Chapter 11
Ever since she was a kid, Sophia had always been full of big dreams and her own ideas The only real stain on her record was marrying Easton, a total jerk in May’s eyes. who couldn’t even see what was right in front of him.
From the moment Stella saw Sophia and May walk in, she was already feeling agitated. ‘Sophia didn’t come back to Jenston just for show, she thought. ‘I figured she’d compete with me over Easton, but I never imagined she’d also target Weston Group’s business.‘
George noticed her worries and gave her hand a reassuring pat. “Don’t stress over it. With Weston Group’s decades of experience, there’s no way we’d lose to some greenhorn upstart.”
After he finished speaking, George gave Sophia a long, unreadable look. The first moment he saw her, he couldn’t help but be thrown for a second. She had grown into the very image of the woman he once knew: similar face, same cool, detached stare.
He tightened his grip into a fist, trying hard to jerk himself back to reality.
Half an hour later, the head of the Maritime Authority took the stage, tossed out a few opening remarks, and then called on the companies to pitch their proposals.
Weston Group kicked things off, the rest took their turns in order, and since it was Crestview Group’s first year at the bidding table, of course, they ended up going last.
Weston Group’s presentation earned high marks from the head of the Maritime Authority, both in theory and practical execution. In comparison, the other companies‘ proposals were pretty run–of–the–mill–none of them offered anything particularly impressive.
Finally, it was Sophia’s turn to present her proposal. Up in the VIP room on the second floor, two men watched the action unfold down below. One narrowed his eyes at the podium.
“Wait, when did Jenston get a woman that stunning? How have I never laid eyes on her before? Seriously, her body is perfect–must be a solid D cup,” said Charles Thorne, head of the Thorne family in Harlinton and a notorious playboy.
“Mr. Thorne, in case you’re wondering, that’s Ms. Roth, the vice CEO of Crestview Group in Jenston,” the host replied.
Charles glanced over at Easton, who was sitting across from him, looking every bit the elite. “That’s your wife, huh?”
Easton’s face clouded over. “If you successfully unlocked! decent, just zip it.” He stubbed out his cigarette, stood up, button

“Mr. Thorne, you really got Mr. Foster riled up,” the host said.
Charles just waved it off, smirking. He’d known Easton since they were kids, and nothing surprised him about Easton’s temper. “Forget it. Turns out she’s my buddy’s ex -wife. I’ll keep my distance then,” he snorted..
When Sophia unveiled her proposal, the entire room froze, and even the head of the Maritime Authority was dumbfounded.
She laid out every aspect of the port project with laser–sharp detail, and her plans for the future left Weston Group in the dust. Her proposal was so airtight that there wasn’t a single thing they could nitpick.
At that point, no one even needed to wait for the results–Crestview Group had the one. in the bag.
As Easton made his way downstairs, he stopped at the stairwell and watched Sophia deliver her closing remarks. She owned the stage–clear–voiced, completely poised, radiating confidence.
She rocked a crisp white business suit, her hair pulled up in a sleek ponytail, her makeup flawless. Easton couldn’t deny it–even in a city like Jenston, nobody could outshine her.
Gone was the timid girl from years ago; she moved with the captivating mix of elegance and maturity. She was a powerhouse in her field, handling everything
On her
own. Easton found himself genuinely intrigued–he couldn’t help but wonder just how much she had grown.
