120 Chapter 120
120.Chapter 120
Sophia showed up in a sleek black evening dress with a mermaid cut that really highlighted her curves. The back of the dress was cut out, revealing a stretch of smooth, flawless skin. Her long hair was loosely pinned up, with two soft curls framing her face, complementing her refined makeup.
Stella snuck a glance at Easton, only to find his gaze fixed on Sophia. Slowly, she tightened her hand into a fist Then, she deliberately remarked, “The Hayes heir had waited so long, and now he finally got what he wanted. He broke off his engagement with the Hart family and chased Sophia overseas. Now that she’s back, he came back too.”
Easton’s face darkened instantly at Stella’s words, his deep eyes fixed on Sophia and Frank ahead of him. He never knew this story between them.
Easton grabbed his glass and strode out of the hall.
Stella watched Easton leave, feeling more anger than satisfaction because she could tell he was jealous.
Frank led Sophia up to Bryce from Twilight Charity, exchanging greetings.
Bryce said, “Mr. Hayes, Ms. Roth, thank you for attending the Twilight Charity annual gala.”
Frank smiled. “Mr. Mitchel, my pleasure.”
As more guests poured in and Bryce got caught up in greetings, Frank steered Sophia toward a secluded chamber.
He handed Sophia a glass of juice. “Tonight is mostly ceremonial. You don’t have to drink if there is nothing important.”
She gave him a gentle smile. “Thank you, Frank.”
Easton was in the upstairs suite, fiddling with a fancy lighter while keeping his eyes on Sophia downstairs. “Mr. Foster, no offense, but if you stay this stubborn, everyone in Jenston will soon hear that Ms. Roth and the Hayes heir are getting married. You’ll regret it,” said Charles.
He was sitting across from Easton, keeping Fiona in his arms.
Easton cast a cold glance at Charles, smirking. “Mr. Lowe probably has no idea you’re holding his niece like that.”
Charles quickly withdrew his arm from Fiona’s shoulder, shooting a nervous look at the door. He gave in instantly, saying, “Alright, I’ll shut up.”
Fiona chuckled, covering her mouth. “Mr. Foster, I’ll leave you guys to talk. I’m going to talk to Uncle Fletcher.”
Easton nodded.
Once Fiona left, Charles poured a drink for Easton, dropping his playful expression. “The money is already in Mr. Lowe’s account.
“He helped us in the incident with Nicolas. Without him, we wouldn’t have located the private club where Nicolas was keeping Sophia so quickly.”
Easton raised his glass. “I should thank you for this, too.”
Charles blinked at Easton’s rare sincerity. “Hey, don’t talk like that. I actually prefer it when you speak to me with your usual cold sarcasm.”
Easton lit a cigarette. “Mr. Lowe has connections in the underworld, and I normally do not need to deal with. him.
“Over the years, you’ve handled these matters for me. Honestly, I feel grateful, and it’s thanks to you contacting him in time that this worked out.”
Charles suddenly felt a twinge of pride, raising his glass. “We grew up together. You don’t have to thank me for

that.”
Easton just smiled, saying nothing.
“Hey, if you still have feelings for Sophia, then put some effort into getting her back.” Charles’s advice came straight from the heart.
Easton fell silent, dragging the ashtray closer and flicking the ashes. “It’s too late now. Do you really think she’ s been sitting around waiting for me all these years?”
