323.Chapter 323
Stella was completely freaked out as she watched Alex lying with a straight face.
Easton and everyone else in the lounge turned their eyes on her.
Hit by a wave of terror, Stella totally lost it and tried to go at Alex, but Fletcher’s men were way too fast and pinned her down before she could even get close.
She snarled, “Alex Weston, are you out of your mind? How could I ever kidnap my own child? Easton, don’t listen to him, I swear I didn’t do it.
“I love David more than anything. How could I ever let him get hurt?”
Seeing Stella scrambling to defend herself, Alex hurried to add, “Mr. Foster, don’t let her trick you. Just ask the nanny who looks after David. She knows exactly how Stella treats him.
“And if Stella’s been making things up or pulling any stunts, the nanny would know best.”
Stella looked shocked and terrified. “Easton, don’t listen to him. The three of them in the Weston family have never liked me,
not since I was a kid.
“You know how they abused me and even had me committed to a hospital. Now that he’s in trouble, he’s trying to dump everything on me. Easton, please, you have to trust me.”
Easton didn’t bother with the Weston siblings‘ argument, not caring who was lying or telling the truth. In a calm voice, he told Gordon to bring in the nanny who took care of David.
Stella had no idea Easton had the nanny waiting outside from the start. ‘Did he suspect me all along?‘ she wondered, her
heart in her mouth.
Gordon led the nanny in, and she was shaking like a leaf.
“Good day, Mr. Foster, the nanny greeted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Easton looked up, his voice cold as ice. “Speak up. Tell us everything you know.”
The nanny kept her head down, sneaking a terrified glance at Stella, who was being held back by two bodyguards not far away. Stella was shooting her a death glare, and the nanny was so scared she was shaking all over.
She also stole a quick look at Alex, who was sprawled on the floor, but he didn’t even look back at her.
Gordon snapped, “Don’t bother looking at them. As Mr. Foster said, just tell the truth and you’ll walk out of Jenston in one piece.”
Hearing that, the nanny started spilling the beans about how Stella had treated David over the years.
When Easton heard that it was actually Stella who had made David fall down the stairs and break his leg last time, he grabbed the ashtray by his side and hurled it to the floor, unable to contain his fury.
Stella’s legs buckled, and she collapsed to her knees, completely terrified.
Easton spat, “Stella Weston, I really underestimated you. David is your own flesh and blood, and you could actually do something like that? Cold–blooded as a snake.”
Stella’s face was ashen, her hands trembling uncontrollably, cold sweat soaking her back. “Easton, no… I didn’t do it. Don’t believe her lies. Alex must have paid her off.”
Easton glanced at the nanny, giving her a silent cue to continue.
The nanny, repeating exactly what Alex had told her to say, pinned the whole kidnapping on Stella in front of everyone.
Once she finished, Gordon led her out of the room.
Stella’s face was ghostly pale as she shook her head, trying to reach Easton to plead her case, but the bodyguards held her back. “Easton, David wasn’t kidnapped, I swear. This time, it really wasn’t me…”
Easton stood up, towering over her. “So this time it’s not true? But what about all the other times? Not all of those were lies, were they?”
Stella froze in shock.
Seeing Easton’s attention shift to Stella, Alex figured Fastra was briving every word he said now.
