Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 355

355.Chapter 355

355.Chapter 355

Easton gave Sophia a confused look, and Ryan looked just as puzzled.

Sophia ignored Easton and stared straight at Eleanore. “Let Mr. Howard do it.”

Eleanore was confused. She instinctively glanced at Derrick, who gave her a slight nod. Suddenly, realization dawned on her.

She thought, ‘So, the rumors online weren’t true after all.’

“Mr. Howard, please come with me,” Eleanore said.

Easton pulled Sophia aside. “Why? Why won’t you let me donate blood to Lucas? You know I’m type A. I’d be a better match than Ryan.”

Sophia looked up at him and said calmly, “Easton, thank you for saving Lucas today. I don’t want to owe you more.”

Easton slowly let go of her hand, looking a little disappointed. His shoulders drooped, and his whole posture radiated exhaustion and defeat.

Sophia watched him walk away, and with every step, he seemed weighed down by sadness and frustration.

She felt a sharp pain in her heart.

Annie stepped forward. “Sophia, maybe we should tell him-”

Sophia cut Annie off. “Let’s talk about it later.”

Easton drove back to Silvermoon Bay. As soon as he walked in, he slumped onto the couch, exhausted. Then he unbuttoned the top button of his shirt.

He closed his eyes, not wanting to think or care about anything right now.

Grace took Irene to the house at Silvermoon Bay, and Irene saw Easton on the couch as soon as she came in. “Easton, you’re back. Where’s Sophia? Why isn’t she home?” Irene asked.

Easton slowly opened his eyes, a bit surprised to see Irene show up unannounced. He stood up and went to greet her. “Sophia is still at work. She might be working late tonight.”

Irene looked upset. “Why is she always so busy? I haven’t seen her in days. I’ve come to Silvermoon Bay twice and still haven’t seen her around.

“Easton, isn’t it your job to take care of her? She needs rest.”

Easton was used to Irene’s nagging, so he patiently said, “Yeah, I know. It’s my fault.”

Irene stroked his cheek. “Look at you, you’ve gotten so pale. Let Grace cook dinner tonight. Make sure Sophia has her meal when she gets home.”

Easton nodded. “Okay.”

Irene had been into TV dramas lately. While Grace went to the kitchen to cook, Easton stayed in the living room to keep her company as they watched TV.

Irene was flipping through the channels when she accidentally landed on a news report about David and Lucas being kidnapped by Catherine. Sophia was also caught on camera going to the hospital.

“Easton, is something wrong with Sophia? Look, she’s at the hospital, and she’s even on the news,” Irene said,

her voice full of concern.

Easton had been planning to switch the channel quickly, but Irene caught Sophia on the screen in an instant. “Sophia is-” Easton started, but before he could say more, Irene suddenly clutched her head, a wave of pain washing over her.

Easton became nervous. “Grandma, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”

Irene pressed her hands on her forehead. “Easton, is Sophia’s son sick? How could you let her take him to the

Easton was totally confused, wondering how Irene knew Sophia had a son.

He thought, ‘Didn’t Derrick have that hot search taken down a while back? Besides, Grandma never pays attention to tabloid stuff, so how could she possibly know about Sophia’s kid?’

Seeing Easton just stand there, Irene got even more frustrated and smacked his shoulder.

She said, “Easton, what did I tell you? You can’t even look after your wife and child. They finally made it back

from Japoria. Are you trying to piss them off and see Sophia take the child away?”

Easton was completely at a loss. He had no idea what Irene was talking about.

“Grandma, what are you trying to say?” Easton asked.

Irene’s mind was a mess. She only remembered that Sophia was her granddaughter-in-law, and just now, it hit her that Sophia had brought a kid back from Japoria. Everything else was a blur.

The more she tried to piece things together, the sharper her headache became.

Seeing Irene so uncomfortable, Easton hurried her back to her room on the first floor and made sure she got

some rest.

As Irene settled back against the pillows, Easton gently took her hand, feeling sorry for her.

He thought, ‘If I hadn’t divorced Sophia back then, maybe we really would have a kid this age now.’

“Grandma, it’s all my fault. I messed up. The kid is not mine.” Easton said.

Irene stroked his face, cutting him off. “If you’ve messed up, just make it right.

“You still have a chance, don’t you? Sophia is a good girl, and she really loves you. If she didn’t, she wouldn’t have gone through so much just to have your kid.”

Easton was desperate to explain that the kid wasn’t his, but Irene just wouldn’t let him get a word in. As she kept talking, she started digging around in her pocket.

“Grandma, what are you looking for?” Easton asked.

Irene pulled out her phone. “Let me show you some pictures of my grandson. When he was little, he looked so much like you. Now that he’s older, he’s starting to look more like Sophia.

“That’s how boys are. They take after their moms, and that’s cute.”

While Irene spoke, she started swiping through her phone, showing Easton photos of Lucas as a little kid.

As Easton stared at the photos on Irene’s phone, his heart started racing. The look on his face said it all; he just couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

“Grandma, how do you even have pictures of Sophia’s kid?” Easton asked, totally stunned.

And Lucas looked really tiny in those photos.

Irene kept scrolling through the photos, explaining, “When Sophia left Jenston pregnant and went off to Japoria to study, I was worried. I had people keep an eye on her and snap photos for me whenever they could.” Easton took the phone from Irene, flipping through the pictures. There were shots from when Sophia was pregnant, and then photos of the kid growing up, year after year.

Lucas, in those photos, looked exactly like Easton when he was a kid.

He thought, ‘How is that even possible? Wait, type A blood? Is it really true that actual family members can’t donate blood to their own kids?’

Suddenly, he remembered the looks on Sophia and Annie’s faces back then.

He thought, ‘So, they all knew the truth. They just kept me in the dark.’

Easton sprang to his feet, not bothering to say a word. He told Grace to take care of Irene, snatched up his car keys, and tore out of the house, racing straight back to the hospital.

After Lucas finished his blood transfusion, his condition finally stabilized.

Annie was right there in the ward, staying by his side.

Sophia had just left Eleanore’s office and was heading back to the ward when she suddenly bumped into Easton, who was hurrying down the hallway.

Sophia was stunned. She thought, ‘Why is he back at the hospital? Did he already figure something out?’

As Sophia walked past Easton, she saw his eyes were red with anger.

Before she could even react, he grabbed her wrist and slammed her against the wall, his voice rough and demanding. “Sophia, just tell me. Is the kid mine?”
