36.Chapter 36
As Easton rose to leave, Stella immediately retreated behind a mask of graceful apology. “I’m so sorry,” she murmured, widening her eyes slightly. “You know I’ve never understood these complicated business matters.
“I just hate seeing my father so distressed. I suppose I let my feelings get the better of me and imagined it was something personal.”
Easton’s expression cooled. “There’s no need for suspicion,” he said evenly. “Sophia’s return is purely about business-she’ s here to support her family’s company, nothing more.
“Help your father see reason. This city offers more than just the port project. Dwelling on a lost opportunity benefits no one.”
Stella offered a gracious smile. “Of course. I’ll make sure my father understands.”
The pleasant mask fell away the moment Easton turned his back, her eyes narrowing into something dark and dangerous. ‘Sophia, you clever thing,’ she seethed inwardly. ‘To twist Easton around your finger so completely-he’s never spoken for you before. I’ve underestimated you.’ Without another moment’s hesitation, she pulled out her phone and called Yvonne.
The sales center for Crestview Group’s latest real estate development was officially opening, and the venue was swarming with prospective buyers.
Upon her return, Sophia joined the project and immediately secured close to twenty choice units from the available layouts. With Rothea Designs transforming them into exquisitely furnished homes, her marketing team had built anticipation for these premium properties weeks in advance.
It was evident that a large portion of the crowd had come specifically because of Rothea Designs’s renowned name and reputation.
Watching the bustling crowd from the second-floor office, Sophia turned to May with a confident smile. The overwhelming turnout confirmed that their marketing strategy was already a triumph.
“Rothea Designs is the talk of the town today, but really, all the credit goes to you,” May said with a grin.
“Just look at the crowd downstairs-they’re all here for you, eager to buy,” she added, her voice brimming with excitement. ” At this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if we hit thirty percent sales on opening day alone.”
“If we can keep this momentum and reach an eighty percent sell-through, it’ll be a resounding success for both Crestview Group and Rothea Designs,” Sophia replied with a smile.
“Crestview Group will see a great return on this development,” she continued, and Rothea Designs’s name will be made in the domestic market.”
May nodded in agreement.
Just then, Sophia’s phone buzzed with a call from Julian. “Sophia, you should head down

A few minutes later, Sophia entered the main lobby with May at her side, only to be immediately surrounded by eager
reporters.
Fortunately, Julian had anticipated this. His security team was already positioned at every entrance and corridor.
Then Julian and Sophia joined Crestview Group’s top executives on stage for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, facing a packed audience that filled the entire lobby.
No sooner had the ribbon been cut than Julian motioned for security to form a protective circle around Sophia and the
executives.
As they started moving through the crowd, a man suddenly broke through, his voice ringing out, “Don’t trust Crestview Group. They’re con artists preying on home buyers.”
He continued shouting, growing more agitated, “They stole our family’s land. People have died because of them. Buying their property makes you part of this crime!”
The man kept repeating these claims while several elderly people and children with him began crying, creating a chaotic spectacle at what should have been an orderly event.
Seeing the situation deteriorate, Julian and Sophia acted quickly. They insisted that May and the executives leave

immediately, volunteering to stay behind and manage the confrontation.
As Sophia urged May to leave, the ringleader targeted her, striding forward and seizing her arm.
“Leaving? It’s not that simple!” he roared. “You rich people think your money puts you above the law. You’ve ruined our houses, and now you think you can just walk away? Not until you give us a real answer.”
Sophia stood frozen, stunned by the sudden assault. May tried to push through to help S, but found herself trapped as a group of elderly people closed in around her.
