It was beyond annoying.
"It's alright. If you ever need anything, just come find me. I'll help you with whatever I can. You were the first to sign up for Team 2, after all. I consider you a friend."
Willow smiled gently, pushing a meal from The Vervain toward her. "Eat up."
"Aw, Willow, you're the best!" Blythe looked incredibly touched. "Don't worry. My heart is still with Team 2."
"I know." Willow smoothly pulled her hands free.
A flash of sheer annoyance crossed her eyes.
Back in Team 1's workspace.
Yvette walked in to find Matthew standing there with an ice-cold expression. "What's wrong?" she asked.
"Your husb... Mr. Shelby sent a 'care package' to Ms. Huxley, and he made sure Team 1 got a share too."
Matthew had almost said 'your husband,' but quickly corrected himself when he noticed Zachary standing nearby.
"Eat it, then. It's from The Vervain, after all." Yvette nonchalantly picked up a portion.
"You can actually stomach this?" Matthew's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Food is food, and I'm starving," Yvette said, grabbing a pair of silverware. "Eat up before it gets cold."
Matthew let out a heavy sigh.
...
As the workday officially began, a highly reluctant Blythe dragged herself out of Team 2 and reported to Team 1.
Yvette had already reviewed the pieces they were assigned. She and Matthew took on the most damaged and challenging artifact.
Zachary and Blythe were free to choose from the remaining four.
Time flew, and it was soon time to clock out.
Taking measurements, running tests for mold, and analyzing paper quality took up the entire afternoon, so actual restoration hadn't even begun yet. All Yvette had to do was review the initial logs.
As she stepped out of the room, she bumped straight into Willow, who was also leaving.
She was surrounded by her Team 2 members.
