Simon Shelby was a massive blabbermouth. If he knew a secret, it was practically guaranteed that the entire Shelby family would find out.
Jabez Shelby shot a cold glare at his slacking brother. "Get out."
Simon stood up lazily, making a childish face at Yvette Yeats as he walked past.
She knew exactly how he operated. He was just a spoiled brat who had never mentally matured past high school.
Jabez glared at his brother, who was still trying to peek inside, and repeated, "Close the door and get out."
Simon curled his lip and finally pulled the door shut.
Jabez fixed his dark eyes on the expressionless woman standing before him. "What is it?"
"Have you prepared the divorce agreement?" Yvette cut straight to the chase, terrified of any sudden complications.
"Wait for me at the marital home on Monday night," Jabez said in a low voice.
"Okay."
Yvette wasn't surprised in the slightest that he had agreed so readily.
"How do I contact you?" Pausing at the door, she suddenly remembered that her number had been blocked.
Jabez looked up, his brow furrowing in confusion. "Don't you have my number?"
"It wouldn't connect. You blocked me."
Her tone was completely apathetic. There was no trace of sadness left in her voice.
The man in the chair looked perplexed for a moment before something clicked.
"Right," he explained flatly. "Willow took my phone and blocked you."
Even though she had already decided to walk away, Yvette's chest still tightened. She took a deep breath, forcing her emotions back under control.
Jabez unlocked his phone and removed her from the block list.
"Done."
Hearing this, Yvette walked out of the study without looking back.
Jabez set his pen down and leaned back in his chair. He stared at the closed door for several long minutes before finally returning to his paperwork.
Monday.
Yvette arrived at the Solstice Auctions restoration lab.
