Milton's expression tightened as he turned to look at Jabez.

Jabez's face remained as indifferent as ever, showing no signs of anger.

He lacked even a shred of a husband's possessiveness over his wife!

If a man couldn't even muster basic jealousy over his spouse, it meant he felt absolutely nothing for her.

Willow noticed Jabez's reaction too, and a faint, knowing smile touched her lips.

"It seems Ms. Yeats isn't just close to Ms. Clark, but very close to Mr. Sutton as well."

At the Azure Atelier.

Yvette was carefully removing a painting's backing when Matthew walked over, first greeting Quade before turning to her.

"Trent invited me to lunch today. Do you want to come?"

He didn't have any personal relationship with Trent, so he figured it was about business, which was why he asked if she wanted to tag along.

Quade was surprised. He hadn't expected Matthew to value Yvette enough to bring her to a business lunch.

Just as he thought she would accept, he heard her decline.

"No thanks."

Out of all of Jabez's friends, Yvette despised Trent the most.

"There's always drinking at these lunches, so I'll come pick you up this afternoon."

"Alright," Yvette agreed.

As Matthew walked away, Quade remembered the disdainful look Trent had shot her the other day.

Realizing something, he hesitated for a moment before asking, "Do you have bad blood with Trent Sterling?"

"Yes." Yvette didn't hide it, knowing they would inevitably run into each other at industry events.

Being upfront about it now could save them a lot of trouble later.

Quade nodded, dropping the subject.

Meanwhile, Matthew arrived at the private room Trent had booked and pushed the door open.

And what did she get in return?

A husband who doted endlessly on the homewrecker who ruined her marriage!

What a sick joke!

Willow blushed, casting a deeply affectionate look at Jabez.

Only when Trent had run out of steam did she finally interrupt, "Trent, stop teasing."

Seeing her flush, Trent burst into laughter. "I'm just stating facts! What's there to be embarrassed about?"

"Enough," Jabez said softly.

"Alright, alright, my lips are sealed." Trent turned back to Matthew. "As you can see, Jabez treasures Willow."

Jabez didn't deny it, turning his gaze toward Matthew. "I heard Willow failed the test at the Azure Atelier?"

Realizing Jabez was here to back Willow up, the polite smile vanished from Matthew's face.

"That's not exactly accurate, Mr. Shelby. We never said she failed. Our offer was for Ms. Huxley to start as a junior restorer. Since she refused, we couldn't force her to stay."
