Chapter 246 The Ambush

Katherine dragged her daughter away, fuming mad, ready to go home and rip Matthew a new
one.
Felix gloated openly. “Alexander, look at how evil your precious foster sister is. She actually tried to pin her dirty work on Sebastian this time! You’re lucky Sebastian isn’t taking this to heart, or the Bennetts would be completely ruined.”
This whole Sophia situation was like swallowing a dead fly for Alexander. Dead or alive, it was purely disgusting.
“Sebastian, the Bennetts failed to raise Sophia properly. We’re deeply sorry. Please forgive us.”
Sebastian had never been one to give anyone face. He only ever did what he pleased. But this time, he actually turned to his fiancée and asked, “Amelia, how do you think we should handle this?”
The power was handed right back to Amelia, making Sophia, who was still slumped on the floor, tremble violently.
A faint, unreadable smile hung on Amelia’s face. It sent chills down Sophia’s spine. What sick trap is this dead btch planning now?!
It was only a few minutes, but to Sophia, it felt like an entire century had passed.
Finally, Amelia spoke.
“Since it’s such a dirty little scandal, I won’t embarrass you by dragging out the details in front of everyone. Have her stand at the entrance of the Sterling Group building and yell ‘I’m sorry, please forgive me‘ three times. We’ll call it even.”
With that, Amelia smiled and turned to Sebastian. “What do you think, Mr. Sterling?”
Sebastian knew exactly how devious she was and nodded along. “I think that’s a perfectly reasonable solution. Let’s do it your way.”
Sophia’s soul practically left her body. Getting her sex tape exposed in front of everyone was humiliating enough. If she had to apologize at the entrance of the Sterling Group, wouldn’t that be a public broadcast to the entire city that she was a cheap, shameless slut?
Who the hell would ever marry her after that?!
“Sebastian, you can’t do this to me!”
Sophia reached out, desperately trying to grab his pant leg, but he dodged her in sheer disgust.

Amelia looked down at her from above, smirking. “Did you ever think this would happen when you were spreading those rumors?”
In my past life, I begged at her feet like a dog, pleading with her not to be so cruel. And what did she do?
She sneered at my pain and mocked me for not knowing my place!
Sophia saw the intense, burning hatred in Amelia’s eyes, and her heart lurched. She’s getting revenge! She’s out for blood! But it was too late to realize it now.
She had lost. Utterly and completely.
“Julian, get her out of here! I don’t want to see her face for another second!” Nora pressed her fingers to her temples, issuing her final ultimatum to Julian.
Julian’s face was incredibly grim. He signaled his younger brothers. “Take her away.” He then forced an apologetic smile at Sebastian. “Sebastian, I’ll personally drag Sophia to the Sterling Group tomorrow to apologize. You have my word.”
Sophia was dragged away by her two brothers, her bloodshot, saucer–like eyes glaring viciously at Amelia. “Don’t get cocky! Don’t you ever fall into my hands, or I’ll make you pay!”
“Oh, I’ll be waiting.” Amelia smiled like an innocent child.
Suddenly, a deafening explosion ripped through the quiet banquet. CRASH!
The massive crystal chandelier suspended from the ceiling shattered, followed by a series of ear–piercing blasts. In a split second, the entire grand hall was plunged into pitch–black darkness.
“Ah! What happened?! Why did the lights explode?!”
“Where’s security?! Security!”
In the pitch black, panicked voices echoed across the room.
But the only answer they got was a gunshot. BANG!
Then, a twisted, psychotic voice echoed through the hall. “Hahahaha, nobody move! If any of you dare to move a muscle, you’ll end up exactly like this!”
A blinding white spotlight snapped on, hitting a random socialite. She was still frozen in shock when another bang rang out. The woman collapsed instantly, bright red blood pooling around her, sending the other women into hysterical, blood–curdling screams.
“Ah! Murder! He killed her!”
