Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 135
CHAPTER 85-1
Sarah stood beside the house with her arms folded, and although the sounds of laughter and conversation continued behind us, the space between us suddenly felt completely separate from the family dinner and I glanced toward her phone.
“What did you find?” I asked.
Sarah hesitated, and that alone made my stomach tighten.
“I need you to understand something before I say anything.” She said.
“Okay.” I said.
“I can’t tell you details about an investigation, and I can’t give you information that could compromise police procedures.” She said and I nodded slowly.
“I understand.” I said.
“But I can warn you when I think somebody is in danger.” She said.
The way she said it made the hairs rise along my arms.
“Me?” I asked as Sarah’s eyes stayed on mine.
“Yes.” She said.
“How much danger?” I asked.
“Enough that you need to start taking this seriously.” She said.
I looked toward the backyard, where Jace was still talking with Mason while the kids chased the football across the grass.
“They’re already taking it seriously.” I said.
“Jace is taking the club seriously. That’s different from you understanding what could happen.” Sarah replied, and her voice remained quiet.
“What are you saying?” I asked as Sarah took a slow breath.
“The violence between the clubs is escalating.” She said and my stomach twisted.
“Because of the Black Reapers?” I asked.
She didn’t answer directly, but the silence told me everything.
“Things have been getting worse behind the scenes. There are threats, retaliation, surveillance, and people testing boundaries. When clubs get into that kind of cycle, things can become

unpredictable very quickly.” She continued and I folded my arms.
“But I’m not involved in the club.” I said as Sarah’s expression softened.
“That doesn’t mean they don’t see you as involved.” She said and I stared at her.
“Because of Jace.” I said.
“Because you’re connected to him.” She said and I looked down at the grass and that truth hurt
because I knew it was true.
“I don’t want to be someone’s leverage.” I said.
“Neither do I.” She said as she stepped closer.
“That’s why I’m telling you to be careful.” She added and I looked back at her.
“Careful how?” I asked.
“Don’t travel alone when you don’t have to, and don’t assume that familiar places are automatically safe. Pay attention to vehicles that seem to appear repeatedly, and don’t give strangers
information about your routine.” She said as I nodded.
“I already check the cameras.” I said.
“Keep doing that.” She said.
“What about the shop?” I asked.
“Make sure someone knows when you’re there and when you leave.” She said.
“I already have people around me.” I said.
“I know.” She said as Sarah glanced toward the backyard.
“That’s probably the best protection you have right now.” She added.
I followed her gaze and watched Jace laugh at something Mason had said.
“He doesn’t know everything, does he?” I asked and Sarah looked back at me.
“No.” She said.
“Should he?” I asked.
“I can’t answer that for you.” She said so I sighed.
“Sarah, if you know something that could get me hurt, please just tell me.” I said.
“I can’t betray police procedures.” She said.

won’t give you confidential information, and I won’t tell you something that could interfere with an investigation, but I can tell you when you need to take precautions.” She continued and I
nodded.
“Thank you.” I said and Sarah looked almost surprised.
“For what?” She asked.
“For telling me at all.” I said and she gave me a small smile.
“Just promise me you’ll listen.” She said.
“I will.” I said.
“Good.” She said as she slipped her phone back into her pocket.
“There is one more thing.” She added and my shoulders tightened.
