Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 171
CHAPTER 103-1
By Wednesday morning, the article was still being talked about around town, and although the worst of the panic had started to settle, I could still feel the damage whenever another customer walked through the door and glanced at me before speaking.
I hated that feeling. I hated wondering whether someone believed the lies. I hated wondering whether the next phone call would be another cancellation.
Most of all, I hated feeling like I needed to prove that Lawson Customs had always been exactly what it claimed to be.
A local motorcycle business. Nothing more.
I was standing behind the counter with a coffee in my hand when Mia walked into the office carrying a folder.
“I’ve got an idea.” Mia said and I looked at her.
“That sounds dangerous.” I said and she laughed.
“Maybe, but hear me out.” She said so I put my coffee down.
“I’m listening.” I said.
“We hold an open day.” She said.
“Here?” I asked.
“Here.” She said as she placed the folder on the desk.
“We invite the community, offer free safety inspections, let people see the workshop and have food outside.” She said as I stared at her.
“You’re suggesting we let everyone see everything?” I asked.
“Exactly.” She said and I considered it.
“They already think we’re hiding something. So let’s give them nothing to hide.” She said and I smiled.
“That’s actually a good idea.” I said.
“I know. We could have demonstrations.” She said.
“Ben can show people basic engine maintenance.” I said.
“We could have a safety inspection station.” She said.
“Exactly. What about the club?” I asked and Mia smiled.
“They can cook.” She said and I laughed.
“You’re volunteering them?” I asked.
CHAPTER103
“Absolutely.” She said.
By lunchtime, the plan was already underway.
Jace loved the idea and when he mentioned it to the club, everyone agreed to help.

Mason immediately volunteered to run the barbecue, although Emma reminded him that volunteering meant actually working.
Derek offered to help with security and Hunter agreed to organize parking.
Jace said the club would handle the food and I could tell from the look on his face that he was secretly pleased to have another reason to support the business.
By Friday, posters had been placed around town.
LAWSON CUSTOMS COMMUNITY OPEN DAY
FREE MOTORCYCLE SAFETY INSPECTIONS
ENGINE MAINTENANCE DEMONSTRATIONS
FOOD, FAMILY AND FUN
I stood outside the shop reading the poster while Jace walked up behind me.
“You nervous?” He asked.
“A little.” I said.
“Why?” He asked.
“Because if nobody comes, it’ll be embarrassing.” I/said and he smiled.
“People will come.” He said.
“You sound very confident.” I said.
“I know this town.” He said and I turned toward him.
“And if they don’t?” I asked.
“They will.” He said as he kissed my forehead.
“Trust me.” He added.
Saturday morning arrived quickly.
す
I woke early, showered, brushed my teeth, pulled my hair back, and dressed in a Lawson Customs shirt before heading downstairs.
The clubhouse was already awake and Emma was packing food into containers, Mason was carrying boxes toward the trucks and several children were running around while Diesel followed them.
“Is everyone awake already?” I asked as Mason looked at me.

“We’ve been awake for hours.” Mason said.
“Why?” I asked.
“Emma threatened us” He said and Emma smiled sweetly.
“They needed motivation.” Emma said and I laughed as Jace walked toward me.
“You ready?” He asked.

“I think so.” I said and he took my hand.
“Let’s go.” He said.
