Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 256

CHAPTER 148-1

Paige’s POV

By Saturday morning, Lawson Customs was beginning to look like itself again, although the repaired window still had a temporary frame and several motorcycles remained in the workshop waiting for parts.

The damage from the attack had not disappeared, but the fear surrounding it had started to loosen its grip.

Jace seemed determined to help with that.

I was standing behind the kitchen counter at the clubhouse, drinking coffee while Emma packed snacks into a large cooler, when Jace walked through the doors wearing his riding vest

“Get ready.” He said as I looked at him.

“For what?” I asked.

“We’re going for a ride.” He said and I raised an eyebrow.

“Today?” I asked.

“Today.” He said.

“Where?” I asked.

“Somewhere that doesn’t involve a workshop, a police report, or Victor Kane.” He said and Emma smiled.

“That sounds like exactly what everyone needs.” Emma said.

I looked around the kitchen and realized several other club members were already getting ready.

Derek was helping Mason’s daughter with her helmet, while Ben was carrying something large toward the parking area.

“What is Ben doing?” I asked as Jace smiled.

“You’ll see.” He said.

I followed him outside, and the sight waiting in the parking lot made me laugh.

Ben had built a custom sidecar for Diesel and it was attached to his motorcycle, and Diesel was already sitting inside it with his front paws resting over the edge and I stared at him.

“You built him a sidecar?” I asked and Ben looked proud.

“He needed somewhere to ride.” Ben said as Diesel wagged his tail.

I walked over and crouched beside him.

“Do you like this?” I asked and he gave me an enthusiastic lick as Ben laughed.

“That answers the question.” Ben said as Jace shook his head.

“You realize we’re never getting rid of that thing now.” Jace said.

“Of course not.” I replied, and Diesel barked as if he agreed.

Gaum

Soon, the parking lot filled with motorcycles, children, wives, and club members, and the atmosphere felt completely different from the tense gatherings we had grown accustomed to lately.

There were no weapons being checked. Nobody was discussing security. Nobody was waiting for båd

news.

Instead, helmets were being passed around, children were arguing about who got to ride with whom, and Emma was reminding everyone to take water.

I climbed onto my bike beside Jace and he looked over.

“Ready?” He asked as I smiled.

“Always.” I said.

The engines started one after another, and the sound rolled across the property before the group pulled onto the road.

I rode beside Jace while the rest of the club followed behind us, and for the first time int days, I felt completely free.

The road stretched ahead through the countryside, and the morning sun warmed my face as the wind moved around my helmet and Jace glanced toward me at a stop sign.

“You smiling?” He asked.

“I am.” I said.

“Good.” He said.

“Don’t get sentimental.” I said.

“I was only checking.” He said and I laughed.

The ride continued through small American towns and quiet country roads, and every few miles, someone would wave from a porch or driveway when they saw the line of motorcycles passing.

The children seemed to love every second of it.

Mason’s daughter kept waving at passing cars, while Ben’s son shouted something through his helmet that none of us could understand.

At one point, we stopped beside a scenic overlook, and everyone climbed off their motorcycles.

Diesel immediately jumped out of his sidecar and ran toward me.

“You enjoyed that, didn’t you?” I asked as he wagged his tail and Ben walked over.

“I told you he would.” Ben said as I scratched Diesel behind the ears.
