Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 260
CHAPTER 150-1
Jace’s POV
Victor Kane had finally realized something that should have been obvious from the beginning, because Paige was no longer an easy target
She had the Iron Vipers around her, she had security cameras watching Lawson Customs from every angle, and she had half the town willing to stand beside her after everything Victor had already tried. Even if he sent another crew after her, he would have to fight through people who were prepared for him now, and Victor had never been the kind of man who enjoyed losing.
That meant he would look for another way in and I stood at the clubhouse window with a cup of coffee in my hand while the morning slowly came alive outside, and the thought had been sitting heavy in my mind since Derek showed me the photo from the previous evening.
The man following Charles Lawson had not been random. Victor had changed targets.
“Jace?” Mason asked.
I turned when Derek walked into the room, and he dropped a folder onto the table before pulling out a
chair.
“You look like you haven’t slept.” I said.
“I slept enough.” Derek said.
“That means you didn’t sleep enough.” I said.
I gave him a look, and Derek grinned before opening the folder.
“We checked the photo again, and we ran the vehicle through everything we could access. Nothing registered, but the same dark sedan was spotted twice near Charles’s house this week.” He said.
My grip tightened around the coffee cup.
“Twice?” I asked.
“Three times, actually, but the third sighting came from a neighbor who didn’t report it until this morning.” Derek said and I set the cup down.
“Then we assume they’re watching him.” I said and Derek nodded.
“That’s what I think.” Derek said.
I walked into the clubhouse kitchen carrying my phone, and Mason followed behind me with Ethan, both of them already dressed for the day.
“I heard.” I said.
“You heard what?” Ethan asked.
“Derek called me before he came here.” I said and I looked between them, and Mason pulled out another chair.
CHAPTER160+
Victor can’t get close to Paige anymore, so he’s looking somewhere else.” Mason said.
Claim
Nobody needed to say Charles’s name because we all knew exactly who they meant and Ethan leaned against the counter.
“Charles is vulnerable because he isn’t used to this world, and whoever is watching him probably knows that.” I said.
“He’s not part of our club. Which means he doesn’t have the same instincts we do.” Mason said and I hated that he was right.
Charles had spent most of his life believing problems could be handled through money, lawyers, business connections, and sheer stubbornness. He had never needed to look over his shoulder when walking to his car, and he had never had to wonder whether an unfamiliar vehicle had followed him home.
Now somebody was teaching him those habits so I picked up my phone and called Paige and she answered almost immediately.
“Good morning.” Paige said.
“Morning.” I said.
There was something in my voice that made her pause.
“What happened?” She asked.
“Derek found another sighting around your father’s house.” I said.
Silence followed, and I could practically picture her standing in the middle of Lawson Customs with a wrench in one hand and her phone in the other.
“Another one?” She asked.
