Summary for Chapter 262: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 262

CHAPTER 151-T

Paige’s POV

1 unlocked the front doors of Lawson Customs before the sun had completely cleared the rooftops, and for the first time since Uncle Will had handed me the keys in my memories, I stood in front of two workshops instead of one

The second building sat beside the original garage, its large doors freshly painted, the concrete floor spotless, and the new lifts standing in perfect rows beneath the bright overhead lights. The smell of fresh paint still lingered in the air, but underneath it was the familiar scent of oil, rubber, metal, and everything else that made this place feel like home.

I rested my hand against the doorframe and smiled.

“We actually did it.” I said and behind me, Ben laughed.

“You did it, Paige, because I mostly carried boxes.” Ben said as I turned around.

“You also broke two boxes.” I said.

“Those boxes were poorly designed.” He said.

“You dropped them.” I said.

“They should have been stronger.” He said.

I shook my head as Mia walked through the office carrying two coffees and a folder tucked beneath her

arm.

“I heard that argument yesterday, and somehow Ben still thinks he won.” Mia said.

“I did win.” Ben said.

“You absolutely did not.” Mia replied, handing me a coffee and I accepted it with a grin.

“Thank you.” I said.

“You’re welcome, boss.” She said.

The word still felt strange sometimes.

Boss.

There had been a time when Lawson Customs had felt like something I was barely holding together, and now I was standing inside a second workshop with employees, customers, new equipment, and more work than I could handle alone.

Ben walked toward the new workshop and looked around proudly.

“So, when do we officially open?” Ben asked.

“Eight o’clock.” I said as he checked his phone.

་ 1

We have twenty minutes.” He said.

Then stop standing around and make sure everything is ready” I said.

“Yes, boss.” He said and I pointed toward him.

“Don’t get used to saying that.” I said.

“I already like it.” He said./

Mia laughed as she headed toward the second office.

“Wait until she gives you paperwork.” Mia said.

“I suddenly hate the title.” Ben said and I smiled as they disappeared into their respective work areas, and then I looked around again.

This wasn’t just expansion. It was proof that we had survived.

The attacks, the rumors, the damaged equipment, the broken windows, and the constant feeling that someone was watching us had not managed to take this away.

At eight exactly, the first customer pulled into the lot.

Then another arrived. Then another and within an hour, both workshops were moving.

Engines started, tools clattered against benches, air compressors hummed, and the familiar sounds of mechanics doing what they loved filled the buildings. The original workshop remained busy with restorations and custom work, while the new building handled regular servicing, repairs, inspections, and smaller jobs.

Ben moved between both spaces, checking work orders and helping wherever he was needed.

He had earned every bit of the responsibility.

By ten, I called him into the office. He walked in wiping his hands on a rag.

“You need me?” He asked.

“I do.” I said as he looked suspicious.

“That sounds dangerous.” He said.

I opened the folder on my desk and slid a document across to him.

“Read it.” I said.

He picked it up, scanned the page, and then looked at me.

“What is this?” He asked.
