Summary for Chapter 323: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 323

CHAPTER 180-2

“I want to.” I said and he waited.

“But we’re not doing it tonight.” I added as Derek nodded slowly.

“I figured you would say that.” He said.

“Victor wants us angry.” I said.

“And you think he is expecting retaliation.” He said.

“He’s counting on it.” I said as I looked toward the damaged building.

“If we rush after him, we give him exactly what he wants, and we take our attention away from the people who need us.” I added as Derek nodded.

“We rebuild first.” Derek said.

“We rebuild first.” I said.

Paige had been listening from several feet away, and when I looked at her, she gave me a small smile.

There was something in her expression that I recognized.

Pride.

She was proud of the decision.

I didn’t need her to say it, but hearing her say it anyway would have been nice.

Instead, she simply walked over and stood beside me.

“You did the right thing.” She said as I looked at her.

“I hope so.” I said.

“You did.” She said.

The next morning, the club gathered at the clubhouse before sunrise.

The atmosphere was serious, but nobody looked defeated. Mason had already contacted the employees and arranged temporary work locations.

Derek was coordinating security. Ethan was documenting the damage and Owen was working through the financial records.

The club’s legitimate businesses had taken a serious hit, but everyone was already thinking about recovery.

That was what made the Iron Vipers different. We could be knocked down, but nobody stayed down.

Paige arrived with coffee and food for everyone, and she walked straight into the middle of the meeting.

CHAPTER 180

“Before anyone says anything, you’re eating” She said as Mason looked at the food.

“I like her.” Mason said.

“You liked her before.” Derek said.

“I like her more now.” Mason said and Paige smiled.

“We have enough problems without everyone becoming hungry and irritated.” Paige said as I looked around the room.

“We’re going to rebuild the warehouse.” I said and everyone nodded.

“We’re going to protect the employees.” I added and another round of nods followed.

“And we’re not going after Victor until we know exactly what we’re dealing with.” I continued and again nobody argued.

The decision felt right.

Later that afternoon, the insurance representative arrived at the damaged warehouse with two investigators.

I stood with Derek while they walked through the surviving section.

Paige stayed nearby because she wanted to understand what could be salvaged.

The representative examined the damage carefully before speaking.

“We are still assessing the total loss, but there is something you should know.” The man said and I looked at him.

“What?” I asked as he glanced toward the investigators.
