Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 46
CHAPTER 28-2
Then he stepped outside and disappeared into the parking lot.
I watched him climb onto a black motorcycle before riding calmly out onto the street and Ben wandered over carrying a socket wrench.
“New customers?” Ben asked.
“Looks that way.” I said.
“He seemed alright.” Ben said.
“He did.” I said
I shrugged before returning to the engine waiting on my workbench.
As far as I was concerned, Victor was simply another customer.
There was absolutely no reason to think otherwise.
The rest of the afternoon passed without anything unusual happening.
Motorcycles came and went, Mia somehow kept the appointment board from overflowing and Ben proudly announced that he’d completed an entire service without asking me a single question.
“I only had to look at the manual twice.” He said.
“I’ll have you teaching classes by Christmas.” I said.
“I’d settle for not installing anything backward.” He said.
“That’s a sensible goal.” I said.
We both laughed before another familiar rumble echoed into the parking lot.
I looked through the workshop window and it was the Iron Vipers. Right on schedule.
Hunter carried another bakery box through the roller doors while Derek and Mason followed behind him and Jace walked in last after removing his helmet.
“I brought donuts.” Hunter said holding the box out proudly.
“You’ve single handedly kept the local bakery in business.” I said.
“I believe in supporting small businesses.” He said.
“I appreciate your sacrifice.” I said and Jace smiled as he walked over to the counter.
“Busy day?” He asked.

“The usual.” I said picking up the clipboard with the latest parts orders.
“You’ve also got company.” He said as his expression changed slightly.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“A new customer stopped in earlier looking for parts.” I said.
“Name?” He asked and I glanced down at the order form.
“Victor. Victor Kane.” I said and the workshop fell completely silent.
Hunter’s smile disappeared and Derek slowly lowered the coffee cup he’d just picked up.
Even Ben looked from one face to another, immediately realizing something had changed.
Jace took the order form from my hand and read it twice before looking back at me.
“He was here?” Jace asked.
“About three hours ago. Why? He needed parts. That’s all.” I said.
Jace looked toward the parking lot as though expecting Victor to still be there.
“What did he say?” Jace asked.

“Not much. He was polite. He ordered brake pads, filters, mirrors and a clutch cable. He seemed
like every other customer.” I shrugged but Hunter muttered something under his breath.
“That’s what worries me.” Jace said and I folded my arms.
“Alright. Someone explain what I’m missing.” I said and Jace rested the paperwork on the counter.
“Victor Kane isn’t just another rider. He’s the vice president of the Black Reapers.” He said.
For a second I simply stared at him trying to put the pieces together.
“The same club that’s been driving past the garage?” I asked.
“Yes.” Jace nodded.
I thought back to the quiet man who’d thanked me for my help and waited patiently while Mia confirmed parts availability.
“He didn’t threaten anyone. He didn’t cause trouble or barely spoke.” I said.
“I know. That’s exactly how Victor operates.” Jace replied.
The workshop felt quieter than it had all day and I looked toward the front window where Victor
had stood only hours earlier.
