Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 64
CHAPTER 38-2
Heard you’ve got a problem. I was hoping someone had started a rumor.” Jace said as Hunter
looked at the dark workshop.
“Looks pretty convincing.” Hunter said.
“What are the trailers?” I asked and Jace smiled.
“Your solution.” Jace said.
Several club members immediately began unloading portable generators from the trailers. Large commercial units. Not the small camping generators people kept in garages.
The kind designed to power entire buildings. I blinked in surprise.
“Where did those come from?” I asked.
“One of the club businesses.” Jace said and Hunter grinned.
“Owning construction equipment finally paid off.” Hunter said.
Within minutes extension cables stretched across the workshop floor while two members
positioned the generators safely behind the building.
The engines roared to life one after another and lights flickered while the air compressor hummed. The diagnostic equipment beeped as it restarted and the workshop slowly came back to life.
I stood in the middle of the garage for a moment simply watching everyone work together.
Nobody had asked whether they should help. Nobody had waited for instructions. They had simply
arrived and started solving the problem.
Ben looked around the now brightly lit workshop.
“I think I love generators.” Ben said and Hunter laughed.
“I knew you’d come around.” Hunter said as Mia smiled from the office doorway.
“The phones are working again.” Mia said.
I let out a long breath I hadn’t realized I’d been holding.
“I honestly don’t know what to say.” I said but Jace shrugged.
“You don’t have to say anything. We take care of our own.” Jace said.
The words settled warmly in my chest. A few months earlier I would’ve tried handling everything
alone. Now I looked around the workshop and realized I wasn’t alone anymore. Not even close.

CHAPTER 38 2
The rest of the morning became surprisingly productive. Customers laughed about the unexpected adventure.

Children who had come with their parents watched the generators with fascinated expressions.
Ben moved efficiently from one motorcycle to another while I tackled the more complicated repairs.
Mia somehow kept appointments organized despite the constantly changing schedule.
By lunchtime we had almost caught up. It felt impossible. Yet somehow we’d done it.
While everyone concentrated on the workshop, Derek quietly slipped away toward the back of the, property.
Nearly twenty minutes later he returned with a serious expression. He motioned for Jace to follow him away from the customers. The two men disappeared behind the garage.
Curiosity tugged at me, but another customer was waiting, so I forced myself back to work.
When Jace returned, his face remained calm, although something in his eyes had changed and I waited until we were alone beside my toolbox.
“What happened?” I asked as he gave a small shake of his head.
“We’re checking something.” He said.
“What kind of something?” I asked.
“I’ll let Derek explain once he’s certain.” He said and that answer told me almost everything. Something wasn’t right.
Late that afternoon, after the final customer left, Derek called the club officers together behind the workshop.
I wasn’t close enough to hear every word, but I caught enough.
“The power line wasn’t damaged. It was cut.” Derek said and my stomach tightened. Deliberately.
Not accidentally. Someone had wanted Lawson Customs shut down.
Before anyone could respond, the sound of another motorcycle approached the garage.
One of the Iron Vipers climbed off quickly and walked straight toward Derek.
“I found someone who saw something.” The guy said.
Every conversation stopped and Derek folded his arms.
“What did they see?” Derek asked.
