Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 77
CHAPTER 46-2
The afternoon breeze stirred the loose corner of the canvas while I continued looking over the old machine. I could almost hear Uncle Will explaining how every scratch had a story. How every motorcycle deserved another chance if someone cared enough to give it one.
George reached into his pocket and handed me a weathered envelope.
“I nearly forgot.” He said and I looked down at it.
“What’s this?” I asked.
“The family found it in the shed.” He said so I carefully turned the envelope over.
Written across the front in faded blue ink were two words in handwriting I recognized instantly.
Will Lawson.
My throat tightened and George smiled softly.
“I figured both belonged back here.” George said and I looked from the envelope to the motorcycle and gently shook my head.
“I don’t even know how to thank you.” I said so he tipped his cap.
“You don’t. You bring that old girl back to life.” He said as he glanced toward the workshop and I
smiled through damp eyes.
“I can do that.” I said.
As if summoned by perfect timing, the familiar rumble of a Harley echoed from the street.
Jace rolled into the parking lot, removed his helmet and immediately noticed the trailer sitting open behind George’s truck.
He looked at me first and then at the motorcycle and then back at me.
“What did I miss?” Jace asked.
I stepped aside without saying a word and Jace slowly walked around the motorcycle before
looking back at me.
“This was his?” Jace asked and I nodded.
“His first restoration project.” I said.
Jace rested one hand lightly on the worn handlebars.
“I’ve seen the photographs upstairs.” Jace said.

CHAPTER 46-2
“So have I.” I said.
“Lnever thought I’d see the real thing.” Jace said.
Neither of us spoke for a moment. George smiled quietly before climbing back into his truck.
“I’ve done my job.” George said and I looked at him.
“You’ve done a lot more than that.” I said and he tipped his cap.
“Get her running again.” George said.
“I will.” I said.
Clam
After George drove away, Jace disappeared into the workshop and returned carrying two buckets, soft cloths and a bottle of gentle cleaner.
“I figured we could at least see what color she used to be.” Jace said and I laughed softly.
“You’re volunteering?” I asked.
“I’m trying to earn boyfriend points.” He said.
“You’ve already got plenty.” I said.
“I’d like some extras.” He said.
Together we carefully rolled the motorcycle into the center of Lawson Customs. Neither of us
rushed, because every layer of dust seemed to reveal another small piece of Uncle Will’s history.
As the grime disappeared, the original deep burgundy paint slowly returned and the chrome
underneath still held a surprising shine despite decades of neglect.
By late afternoon both of us were covered in dust, grease, and cobwebs and Jace looked down at
his shirt.
“I think this motorcycle fought back.” Jace said.
“It definitely won.” I said and he laughed while wiping his hands on a rag.
“What happens now?” He asked.
I walked slowly around the motorcycle, already making a mental list of everything it needed.
“We don’t rush. We save every original part we can. And we bring it back exactly the way Uncle Will
would’ve wanted.” I said and Jace smiled.
“I’ll help.” He said.
“I know you will.” I said.
