After the live stream ended and the cameras were turned off, Caleb lingered, wanting to say something.

Noticing Caleb was about to come over and talk, Alicia and Simon quickly said their goodbyes and grabbed Landon, hurrying out.

Caleb was just a moment too late, and could only watch his sister walk away, letting out a sigh.

Nicolas had half a mind to call Nicole out for dragging that troublemaker Jett along and causing a mess.

But he worried someone might catch it on camera and post it online, making it look like there was something going on between him and Nicole.

So he just gave Nicole and Jett a frosty glance, motioned for Caleb to follow, and walked off.

Soon, Simon and the others headed out as well.

Jett gave Nicole a look that screamed ‘praise me. “Nicole, I did pretty well today, didn’t I:”

Nicole finally snapped out of it, tearing her eyes away from Nicolas and Caleb as they left, and turned to Jett.

‘No doubt he’s fuming right now, Nicole thought, remembering Nicolas’s icy glare.

She shot Jett a cold look. “You tell me.”

Jett said with a cheeky grin, “I think I totally nailed it today.

“Look at Nicolas-he’s really worked up thanks to me.”

Nicole just stared, speechless. ‘Honestly, it’s like talking to a brick wall,’ she thought.

She shot Jett an annoyed glare. “I told you to get under Nicolas’s skin, not make him want to strangle you.

“Didn’t you notice he’s mad at me now too?”

Jett’s grin faded, and he put on a wounded look. “That’s his problem, not mine.

“Hey, I helped make things even messier between him and Alicia. Maybe I didn’t nail it, but you’ve got to admit I put in the effort, right?”

Nicole took a deep breath, biting back the urge to yell at him.

Her eyes were already rimmed with red, and now tears welled up as she choked out, “But the things you said just now… they really hurt me too.”

She wasn’t about to give up on Jett-he was still her plan B.

She needed to make him really worry about her.

Just as I thought, Nicole mused, watching Jett get all flustered.

Jett panicked, “Nicole, don’t cry!

“Just say the word and I’ll do whatever you want tomorrow, I promise.”

Nicole let out a sigh. “Just don’t let Alicia bully me, alright?

“And quit going after Nicolas all the time.”

She couldn’t help but add, “And for the next live stream, please, don’t say anything crazy.”

Jett nodded, “Okay, you’re the boss. I’ll do whatever you say.”

Nicole thought for a moment, then asked, “You said you had that stuff, right?”

Jett blinked, puzzled. “What are you talking about?”

Nicole lowered her voice. “You know, the thing that could get me and Nicolas together.”

Jett shot her a disgruntled look. “You really want to seal the deal with him?

“Seriously, what am I supposed to do then?

“Have you ever really thought about me? I’m way better than that guy, you know.”

If you were the heir to the Kingsley family, maybe I’d actually think about it, Nicole thought to herself.

But Jett was just way too unpredictable-most of the time, she was the one stuck cheering him up.

She wanted to be the princess, the one who got spoiled and pampered, so he was never her first choice.

But no way she could actually say that.

So she just put on an apologetic look. “Sorry, you can’t really control who you fall for.

I’ve had a thing for Nicolas for so many years-there’s just no way I can get over him.

‘But I’m sure you’ll meet someone who’s perfect for you one day.”

No way was she letting Jett go-he was way too useful to just cut loose.

Even if she got together with Nicolas, Jett would still be her plan B.

ett’s expression darkened, looking even more annoyed.

After a moment, he sighed. “Alright, whatever. Who told me to care about you this much anyway?

You always said that if you like someone, you should treat her well no matter what.

‘I’ll treat you well too.”

He added, “I’ve got that potion. I’ll bring it for you when we meet up tomorrow.

‘And I can even set it up so you and Nicolas get some alone time together.”

Nicole let out a sigh of relief. As long as he doesn’t start any drama, that’s good enough for me,’ she thought.

He was always so sweet to her, clearly had a huge crush, but honestly, all she could do was feel sorry for him.

She asked, “That potion doesn’t have any side effects, does it?

She was still planning to marry Nicolas for real one day, so there was no way she’d risk anything that could hurt him.

Jett gave her a reassuring look. “Don’t worry, it’s totally safe. The miracle doctor who healed me is the one who gave it to me.”

Nicole looked confused. “Why would he give you a potion like that?”

She’d met the miracle doctor before, thanks to Jett’s introduction.

He gave her a warm and trustworthy impression.

Rumor had it he came from some reclusive lineage of master herbalists, and his skills rivaled those of the top national

masters.

She’d seen his skills firsthand-he really was something else.

Because she didn’t take care of herself when she first started her period as a kid, she ended up with chronic cramps every month-sometimes the pain was almost unbearable.

After moving in with the Hammond family, she tried all sorts of treatments with different doctors. Things got a little better, but the pain never really went away.

But when the miracle doctor checked her out, he mixed up a special potion just for her.

After she finished that bottle, she was honestly shocked-she never had cramps again.

Lately, her stepfather’s insomnia had gotten even worse, and he kept thinking about that incense Alicia made.

She was planning to ask Jett to help her reach out to that miracle doctor once the variety show wrapped up.

She wanted him to prescribe some medicine or maybe make some healing incense for her stepfather.

That way, she could really win him over for good.

Since that miracle doctor was the one who gave Jett the potion, Nicole figured it had to be trustworthy.

Jett replied, “I told him I wanted to help the girl I like get what she wants, and he said I could use this potion on Alicia to make it happen.

“If I seal the deal with Alicia, Nicolas will finally stop chasing after her.”

He paused, then said, “Or maybe I should be the one to do it. You can just bring Nicolas along and catch me and Alicia together.

“I really can’t stand the thought of you having to do something like that.”

Nicole never imagined Jett had gone to the miracle doctor to get that potion all because of her.

But there was no way she wanted Jett hooking up with Alicia like that.

Her admirers had to keep themselves pure for her, both body and soul.

If Jett got some random thug to use that potion on Alicia, she wouldn’t care at all.

Jett gave her a resigned look, clearly powerless to refuse her. “Fine, you’re the boss. I’ll do as you say.”

Nicole’s tears vanished, replaced by a bright smile. “Thanks, Jett. You’re honestly the best.”

She reminded him, “And remember-this stays between us. Not a word to anyone, got it?”

Jett patted his chest and swore, “Relax, Nicole-cross my heart, only you, me, and the universe know about this. Not a soul will ever hear a word.”

Nicole could finally breathe easy.

Then Jett drove her back home to the Hammonds.

When Nicole got home, the first thing she did was head over to Caleb’s room and knock on his door.

But he wasn’t back yet, leaving her standing there in the hallway, a little disappointed.

After a moment’s thought, Nicole hugged the childhood pillow she’d brought with her when she first came to the Hammonds, then sat cross-legged in the living room and let the tears flow.

She planned to wait for her three brothers to get home-she needed them to cheer her up.

What Nicole didn’t realize was…

Caleb had already messaged Kevin and Austin, letting them know she’d probably be crying at home tonight and asking them to go comfort her.

When Kevin saw the message, he decided to work late at the office and let Austin deal with it.

Austin was already planning to go out for drinks with some friends, figuring this kind of emotional stuff was better left to

Kevin.

Clearly, neither of them wanted to get dragged into the mess at fast, but they didn’t bother to coordinate with each other. Meanwhile, their father was still stuck in the hospital, and as the perfect wife, Mavis was right there by his side.

So Nicole ended up crying her eyes out for nothing-no one showed up to see her little performance.

Landon drove Alicia home, then took off.

Alicia went home, took a quick shower, changed into something comfortable, and then walked over to the house right across from hers to knock on the door.

Jason quickly opened the door and ushered her inside.

Alicia asked him, “Have you ever gone to see that miracle doctor-the one who cured Jett-to have him check you out?”

She’d never actually met the miracle doctor herself, but she’d definitely heard about him.

He was pretty well-known in their circle.

Besides Jett, he’d also treated and cured several other powerful figures in the scene.

But his whereabouts were always a mystery-people said it was all about fate and timing, and if you tried to hunt him down yourself, good luck ever finding him..

He also had a reputation for being pretty eccentric.

If he just didn’t vibe with someone and refused to help them out, fine, whatever. But going out of his way to make their illness even worse?

That was just messed up, and she couldn’t get behind that at all.
