Chapter 126
Leo was still in the hospital.
When he got a call from Mavis, he frowned. “The Moore family already told me about this.”
The Moore family made it clear they weren’t restricting Nicole’s freedom.

But since Nicole had endangered Nicolas’s ability to have children, they just wanted her to stay at one of their hotels until they could find that miracle doctor.
They just didn’t want the Hammond family to have any leverage to accuse them of illegal detention.
They also made it clear that if Nicolas couldn’t be cured, the Moore family would terminate all their projects with the Hammond family, no matter the cost.
The Hammond Group was Leo’s life’s work, and he couldn’t let it be significantly affected by something his stepdaughter did.
The Moore family just wanted Nicole to stay at one of their hotels for a while, and he saw no problem with that, so he agreed right away.
Mavis caught on to her husband’s meaning right away.
She was a little disappointed that he didn’t defend Nicole directly.
He was compromising with the Moore family.
But she kept her feelings hidden and put on a gentle face. “I was just worried they might do something to Nicole. But since you and the Moore family have already talked it over, I can relax.”
She was showing that she trusted her husband.
Leo was pleased with Mavis’s thoughtfulness. “The Hammond family will do everything we can to help find that miracle doctor.
“Don’t worry, Nicole’s my daughter too-of course I’ll help her.”
Mavis said a few heartfelt words, showing just how much she depended on him, before ending the call.
Then she told Nicole to just hold on a bit longer-the Hammond family’s got her back.
Nicole finally settled down; all she could do now was hope Jett would come back soon.
That day, Nicolas was discharged from the hospital and returned to Irisport.
He also posted on X, announcing he was quitting showbiz for good.
The news of his retirement instantly shot to the top of the trending charts, and tons of his fans were heartbroken, begging him not to leave.
Even though Starlight Entertainment helped him get his start, Nicolas was the real deal-most of his followers on X were genuine fans, not just bots or casuals.
So when he announced his retirement, it sent shockwaves through the industry.

His fans just couldn’t accept it, and started spamming Nicole’s X page again.
Everyone knew it was Nicole’s outrageous stunt that pushed Nicolas to quit showbiz.
Nicole got absolutely roasted by Nicolas’s fans.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Maxwell’s esports team lost a crucial match and missed out on the global tournament.
It was the first time their club had failed to qualify for the global tournament, and their hopes for a three-peat were crushed.
No one saw this coming-everyone thought there was no way they’d lose, but they did.
Besides the team being off their game, another big reason for the loss was that Maxwell, their hard-carry, had a flare-up of his hand injury mid-match-it hurt so bad he couldn’t even grip his mouse.
He got roasted pretty hard online, but his fans’ hearts went out to him.
Fans started digging up what happened at the last global finals-Maxwell’s hand was in terrible shape, and Alicia had to fly overseas at the last minute just to treat him.
That’s how they managed to clinch the championship back then.
This time, with Alicia not around, no one else could help Maxwell recover in time, which ended up costing them the match.
The feud between Maxwell and Alicia was out in the open now-everyone knew about it.
Because of that, Maxwell’s fans absolutely hated Nicole.
They figured if Nicole hadn’t meddled, those two would never have ended up estranged.
So they joined the mob and flooded Nicole’s X page, tearing her apart online.
Nicolas and Maxwell’s fans went after Nicole even harder than they ever did Alicia-she was getting absolutely dragged.
People were demanding she quit the entertainment scene for good and swearing to boycott anything she endorsed.
Some of their loaded fans even hired people to dig up every bit of dirt they could find on Nicole-real or fake-and plastered it all over the internet.
Plus, with her cringey variety show moments and her name trending nonstop, Nicole’s reputation with the general public was in the gutter.
Starlight Entertainment, thanks to Nicolas’s orders, didn’t lift a finger to help her-in fact, they even threw her under the bus.
Nicole went from being a rising star with tons of buzz to a “hypocrite” everyone loved to hate-now she was getting roasted by the whole internet.
With nothing else to do at the hotel, Nicole kept doomscrolling through all the hate on X and other sites, basically torturing
herself.
Every time she read the comments, she’d end up crying her eyes out, feeling so wronged. Then she’d desperately call Kevin and his brothers, hoping for some comfort.

But all three of them just brushed her off, barely even pretending to care.
That really hit Nicole hard-she was on the verge of a total breakdown.

Back at the hospital. Jett and Alicia were sent to the hospital by the program team for examination.
Turns out Jett messed up his leg pretty bad-the doctor said he’d need to rest it for two months, no heavy movement at all.
So Jett had to pull out of the rest of the filming.
That left Caleb all by himself.
Alicia headed back to Greenpeak Village, and the livestream kept rolling.
Marley turned to Caleb and asked, “Now that everyone on your team’s dropped out, are you gonna call in a friend or join another group?”
Caleb’s eyes lit up. “I had a great time working with Landon, so I’ll just join their group.”
That meant he’d get to team up with his sister.
But as soon as Caleb finished, Alicia jumped in, “Nope, I don’t want to be on his team.”
Landon added, “Honestly, teaming up with him was anything but fun-we were at each other’s throats most of the time. The viewers saw it all.
“So yeah, count me out too.”
Caleb didn’t really care about what Landon said, but it really hurt when Alicia shot him down in front of everyone.
He looked at her with a pitiful, wounded expression, but Alicia didn’t even spare him a glance.
Back then, she would’ve softened up for sure, but now she was as cold as ice.
That really hit him hard.
Realizing Alicia wasn’t going to budge, Caleb had to go with plan B. “Fine, I’ll join Mr. Graves’s team then.”
Simon just smiled and said, “Glad to have you, Caleb.”
Over the next few days, all the troublemakers were gone, and the other two teams just kept the livestream going as usual.
This time, the vibe switched from gossip and drama to wholesome, peaceful daily life.
And every day, viewers saw Caleb constantly trying to please Alicia, hoping she’d notice him.
He’d even make special trips to town just to buy her snacks, and was always pestering her, asking what she needed or offering to do whatever she wanted.
But Alicia acted like he didn’t even exist, completely ignoring him.
At first, Caleb’s fans weren’t too happy about it.
But the rest of the fandom just joked that here comes another simp, and they were all enjoying the spectacle.

Everyone could see that Caleb and Alicia used to have a great sibling bond.
Too bad Nicole had to meddle and drive a wedge between them.

Eventually, even Caleb’s fans had to just accept it-he was simping so hard, they ended up joining in on the teasing too.
On top of that, they just couldn’t stop flaming Nicole online every day, calling her a walking disaster.
Alicia used to get the worst of it from all three fandoms, but now Nicole was getting dragged even harder.
Nicole was bleeding followers, and with her reputation in shambles, people started boycotting everything she endorsed.
Her endorsements got canceled, and to make it worse, she had to pay a bunch of contract penalties.
Payback hit her before she even knew what happened.
Just like that, this season’s livestream came to an end.
On the last day, Alicia said she’d be heading off to join a film crew soon, so she wouldn’t be part of the next season.
Landon, who was set to direct her movie, of course wouldn’t be joining either.
With Alicia gone, Caleb-who was only there for her-announced he wouldn’t be coming back, either.
Simon and Hannah would stay on to show the ropes to the new guests next season.
But Simon and Hannah both knew there was no way the show would ever pull in the same numbers or hype as it did in the first two seasons.
After wrapping up the show, Alicia and Landon caught a flight back to Irisport.
Jason had some business to take care of at his company, so he headed back a day early.
Alicia spent more than a week back home in Irisport, relaxing while also diving deep into her research on Jett’s blood.
She’d already made some exciting discoveries and breakthroughs, and she was sure that with a little more time, she’d be able to develop the antidote.
One day, Sherry Miller, Alicia’s assistant, came back from a trip out of town.
Alicia poured her a glass of water. “Thanks for all your hard work lately.”
Sherry took a sip and smiled. “It’s no trouble at all.”
She went on, “I checked out several places where Mavis used to stay, and reached out to some of her ex-husband’s friends for information.
“I found an important lead.”
Smiling, Alicia asked, “What did you find?”
Since Alicia couldn’t bring her assistant for the second season, she had Sherry dig into Mavis’s history with her ex-husband.
In her previous life, Alicia had found out that Mavis had purposely pushed her ex-husband into gambling.
So she needed Sherry to dig up the evidence.
