Chapter 30

Felicity was so furious at being ganged up on by Maxwell and Nicolas that she turned bright red, her lips quivering, but she didn’t snap back. She really hadn’t expected Maxwell and Nicolas to be so blunt with such sharp tongues.
But Felicity didn’t dare to retaliate. After all, she didn’t want to risk being blacklisted or canceled.
At the same time, Felicity felt a twinge of regret. She shouldn’t have made so many critical comments just to show off her so-called professionalism in front of Nicolas and the audience.
The viewers watching the livestream at this moment felt that Felicity got what she deserved. Even though Nicolas and Maxwell’s words were harsh, Felicity’s own comments were far more unpleasant.
If Felicity had argued back, just like she did with Alicia before, and confronted Nicolas and Maxwell, the audience might have respected Felicity a little more.
But instead, Felicity’s face was red with anger, and she lowered her head in silence, essentially giving in. That only made her more unlikable.
[Isn’t Felicia supposed to be the most unyielding one in LUMIA? Is this all she’s got?]
[I can see she’s got that cold, arrogant vibe, but this “unyielding” part doesn’t seem to show.]
[You’re wrong. Felicity’s “unyielding” is only with people on her level or beneath her.]
[When Felicity runs into someone more powerful, she bends over backward.]
[I can’t help but feel that Felicity is more of a bully in the group.]
[So, the rumors in the entertainment industry are only half true? If Alicia was really that bossy, would she have been forced out of the group and had to break her contract?]
[Felicity is Nicole’s friend, so why are Nicolas and Maxwell being so rude to her?]
[I find it strange too. Nicolas and Maxwell clearly don’t like Felicity.]
[I thought they’d treat Alicia this way, but it’s Felicity they’re going after.]
[Alicia’s been roasted and hated online, mostly by LUMIA’s other four members, Nicole’s, Nicolas’s, and Maxwell’s fans.]
[But since the livestream started, not only have Nicolas and Maxwell not confronted Alicia, they’ve been the ones trying to talk to her.]
[So who exactly spread the rumor that they hated Alicia for trying to ride on their coattails?]
And anyone who isn’t blind can see that when Nicolas and Maxwell teamed up to go after Felicity, it was because of Alicia]
[I really wanna know if Nicolas and Maxwell knew Alicia before they came on the show. Feels like there’s something going on J
Countless viewers flooded the live chat with messages. I think there’s something going on.]
[But I also have to say, Maxwell’s acting a little like a simpl
Fans of Nicolas and Maxwell jumped in to defend them.

[Don’t start spreading rumors. Maxwell would never simp for Alicia.]
[Nicolas neither. Maybe he just felt he misunderstood Alicia before and is trying to make it right.]

[They don’t hate Alicia anymore because she already explained that the whole identity stunt had nothing to do with her. It was her manager.]
[Nicolas and Maxwell were just misled and used.]
[That hag Haley is so ugly and evil. We can’t let her win.]
[Exactly. We can’t let her play us and get away with it. We need to go after her.]
Their anger escalated, and they began spreading the word in all the fan groups that Alicia’s manager had deliberately used them as pawns and that Haley was too cruel and over the line.
Soon, Nicolas’s and Maxwell’s fans teamed up and stormed Haley’s X account, leaving comment after comment of insults, far harsher than anything they’d directed at Alicia.
Haley was watching the livestream too. When she saw Felicity being shut down by Nicolas and Maxwell, Haley’s expression turned stormy. Haley wasn’t worried about Felicity. She thought Felicity was just an idiot.
Then, reading the sarcastic comments about Felicity online, Haley felt a rising sense of unease.
Originally, Haley had agreed to let Felicity join Nicole on the show so the two of them could team up and completely put Alicia in her place. Haley never expected that on the very first day, Felicity would end up digging her own grave.
Nicolas and Maxwell were indeed unusually close to Nicole, but Alicia had grown up with Nicolas as childhood friends and was Maxwell’s sister. Felicity deliberately targeting Alicia in front of Nicolas and Maxwell was just asking for trouble.
Haley had constantly reminded Felicity to use both skills and public opinion to put Alicia down. Felicity hadn’t come on the show to show off or to criticize the trainees from another program for no reason.
Then Haley noticed people had started turning the heat on her in the comments, and she became furious. She was outraged when she saw the comment calling her an ugly, evil hag, so much so that she nearly leaned back in disbelief.
When Haley realized her X account was under attack, she wanted nothing more than to yell at Felicity for being such an idiot.
Haley had deliberately built Felicity up in the past, feeding her the idea that she was the most talented out there, that if it weren’t for Alicia, Felicity would be even more popular.
Haley had encouraged Felicity’s arrogance, pushing her to confront Alicia directly and step into the spotlight.
Now, however, Haley was seriously starting to regret it. She had no choice but to contact the PR team to try to salvage Felicity’s reputation. After all, LUMIA was still Haley’s biggest cash cow.
Haley wasn’t the only one regretting the situation. Nicole also felt frustrated. Nicole hadn’t expected Felicity to be so eager to show off, crossing the line on the very first day.
Nicole had originally brought Felicity along to go head-to-head with Alicia, but Nicole hadn’t anticipated Felicity would embarrass herself so badly on day one. Nicole was frustrated. If Felicity hadn’t been needed for singing and dancing later, Nicole almost wanted to swap teammates.
As Nicole was thinking that, Maxwell glanced at her and said, “Nicole, I know you’re innocent, but be careful who you call friends. Don’t let anyone use you

Maxwell added pointedly, “You’d better not hang out with those evil showoffs. They’re a bad influence.” Maxwell clearly did not approve of Nicole being friends with Felicity.
Rendered speechless, Nicole thought, ‘Bad influence, my ass. Does Maxwell have to talk like this?’ She had once appreciated Maxwell’s direct, straightforward style because she could often take advantage of it.
Now, though, Nicole was annoyed with Maxwell too, thinking, ‘If you’re going to say things like that, couldn’t you just tell me privately? And the way you’re saying it makes it sound like Felicity and I are really good friends. We’re not, okay?
‘Felicity is more trouble than she’s worth, and so are you. With all these people in the car, and the livestream still on, how am I supposed to answer that?’
Nicole could only give Maxwell an awkward smile. “Maxwell, let’s just keep watching the video.”
Even though she mentally roasted Felicity, Nicole certainly wouldn’t throw Felicia under the bus in front of the live camera.
After all, Felicity had joined as Nicole’s friend. If Nicole went along with Maxwell’s words, it would be shooting herself in the foot. Nicole could admit she’d made mistakes in choosing friends, but she couldn’t let the audience think she was two-faced.
Of course, Nicole also wouldn’t defend Felicity, because Nicolas and Maxwell definitely wouldn’t be pleased.
Nicole thought, ‘The audience watching the livestream probably doesn’t like Felicity right now. Speaking up for her would hurt my own image.’
So Nicole chose to shift the topic instead. The audience, however, was starting to see Nicole in a new light.
Then the guests continued watching the replay videos. Alicia discussed the trainees’ performances with Darren and even pointed out a few unremarkable ones who actually had talent. She occasionally glanced at Simon and Hannah, asking for their opinions.
This live variety show wasn’t just about these guests. Simon and Hannah weren’t mere props, and everyone could share the screen time. They grew even fonder of Alicia and naturally joined the discussion.
Nicolas and Maxwell also chimed in now and then. Even Nicole, holding back her irritation, occasionally added a comment.
Only Felicity was completely ignored. She stopped watching the video and buried her attention in her phone, which only made the viewers’ opinion of her sink even lower.
The atmosphere in the car finally mellowed out. What the guests didn’t know was that while they were watching the replay of the performances, the remaining thirty-two trainees of Radiance: The Idol Journey were also sitting together, watching their livestream.
