Chapter 142: Colors

Dante’s pov

I looked around the dinner table at my family.

Only laughter filled the room as we feasted and were happy that Jade was now back.

We haven’t told anyone about the pregnancy, but I am sure the werewolves will pick up on it soon.

“I will sleep with the two of them today,” Mom said as she took Dove and Tom with her.

We all went to our separate rooms as we called it a night.

“Well, it’s been a long day, but I am glad that we are home,” Jade said, and I smiled as I looked at

her.

“Come on, follow me,” I said, holding out my hand, and she took it without asking any questions.

She followed me to the garden, and I watched how her eyes lit up when she saw the sight.

I played the music, held out my hand, and bowed slightly.

“Can I have a dance?” I asked her, and she chuckled at this.

“What are you doing? Why are you doing this now?” she asked me, and I just shrugged.

“I don’t want to sleep yet,” I answered, and she nodded and put her hand on mine.

We danced to the music, and after a few seconds, I heard a few chuckles.

I didn’t need to look up to know where it was coming from.

I looked up anyway, just to show Jade, whose smile became even wider.

Dove and Tom were standing on the balcony looking at us.

They were chuckling as they watched, as if it was amusing, or it could be because I am not much

of a dancer.

After some time, we stopped dancing, and they also went back inside.

I held Jade’s hand and looked at her as she closed her eyes.

“You are beautiful,” I said, and she smiled at this before opening her eyes.

“Addison mentioned something earlier today and I can’t stop thinking about it,” she said, and I looked at her intrigued.

What did she say that Jade would want to tell me?

One thing I know about Jade is that she is trustworthy.

I hardly remember her ever telling me something that Addison and she talked about.

There was that time when Felix was still trying to impress Addison.

I tried all I could to get information from Jade about how Addison feels, and she never said a thing.

So the fact that she is willing to even talk about something she spoke with Addison about me is

interesting.

“She said that it was easy for me to leave her. Do you also think the same? That Was it easy for me

to leave?” she asked me, and I thought about it.

Back then, I could feel her helplessness because I was in the same boat.

“No,” I answered, and she looked at me, waiting for an explanation.

“After you left, I wanted to come after you but that madman said something. He pointed out how weak I was back then, how I couldn’t protect the love of my life. Making the decision not to come after you was the hardest decision I have ever made. I imagine it took a lot of resolve for you to do

what you did,” I explained.

She rested her head on my shoulder and then sighed.

“Well, in case it wasn’t clear. Leaving you was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life,” she

said after a few seconds.

I smiled at this and kissed her forehead, and we just sat there watching the stars.

For some reason, today the stars look even more beautiful than normal.

They seem brighter in my eyes.

I opened my eyes when I caught two scents, and a few seconds later, the door to our bedroom

opened.

“Mommy and Daddy,” Tom said as the two of them walked in.

They both jumped on the bed, and Jade slowly opened her eyes.

“Morning, little rug rats,” Jade said as she hugged both of them.

“Dove said that she wants pancakes,” Tom said, and looked at his younger sister.

“Did you say it?” Jade asked, and Dove nodded.

“Put blueberries on them and strawberries,” Tom added, and looked at Dove.

“You want me to make them for you?” I asked them since Jade seemed like she was still sleepy.

“No, I want to make them with Mommy and Dove,” Tom answered and looked at his mother.

“Fine, how can I say no to these cute faces?” Jade asked as she got off the bed.

She freshened up while I stayed with them in bed and listened to Tom’s stories.

Dove was looking at her older brother in awe as he told her tales of his bravery.

Jade came out after some time, and they left the room.

I also got ready, and as I was going downstairs.

I heard loud music playing in the kitchen.

I smiled when I heard Jade and Tom’s voices as they were singing along.

I headed straight there, and I couldn’t help but grin even more at the sight in front of me.

Jade and the kids were busy making pancakes and also using them as lotion.

I looked at Dove, and she wasn’t singing along, probably because she didn’t know the song.

But she was dancing along with them, and it was probably the cutest thing I have ever seen.

I took out my phone and started recording to make sure that I could keep this as a treasured

memory.

“This place sure is lively,” Felix said, holding Tim in his hands.

Addison didn’t waste any time and joined her friend as they were dancing around.

Everyone else came downstairs, and I found them laughing and dancing at the scene.

The atmosphere of the house changed overnight; the house was suddenly filled with light and joy.

I looked at Jade and realized that the last few years had been dull.

It was as if I stopped seeing colors and everything around me was black and white.

And now that she is back, she bought all those bright colors with her as well.

“How did you even manage to stay away from her for so long?” Mom asked me, and I looked at her

confused.

“You look at her like she is life. Like you only exist for as long as she does,” she explained, and I just

smiled.

“Maybe that is the case,” I answered, and she nodded and looked at Jade.

“The past 5 years, you were unbearable and moody. Not to forget impatient and violent,” she pointed out.

“I get it, I was a pain in the ass,” I said and she chuckled at this.

“Not just a pain, a massive one,” she retorted.

We had breakfast that Jade and the kids made, and it was really good.

Jade started going to work right away, and I also had work of my own.

A few hours later, I got a mind link from Felix.

“Alpha King, we have a big problem. Please come downstairs right now, it’s Dove,” Felix said.

What could be going on?

What’s wrong with Dove?
