Rejected by the Crown Prince? I Marned His Uncle
Chapter 70 The Bandits‘ End
The man with the scarred face could not hold back his screams.
Just as Margaret was ready to end his life, a great shadow fell over her.
Finished
She turned to strike, but the towering figure simply snatched Zoe from the ground and bolted toward the doorway.
“Everyone halt! Move again and I’ll crush this girl’s throat!”
Blood had soaked the entire courtyard. The bandits who had encircled Theodore now lay scattered across the earth.
More than half had already drawn their last breath; only a few remained, groaning in agony.
By the kitchen entrance, Carol trembled so violently she could barely stay upright. “Dead… they’re all dead…”
She had spent her whole life in a quiet hamlet and had never witnessed such slaughter.
Even Zoe’s eyes widened in pure terror.
Her neck was locked in a suffocating grip, her feet dangling in the air.
The bandit chief–standing near seven feet tall–held her aloft, his eyes bloodshot. “You two are something else. You cut down so many of my men as though they were stalks of wheat. It took me years to build this crew, and in one night, you’ve ruined everything. I will make you pay in blood!”
With that, he began to squeeze the life from Zoe.
But then a figure threw herself at his feet.
“Wait please, sir! She’s only a young girl! Sell her if you must, but do not kill her! I beg you…”
Carol had gathered every shred of courage she possessed; now she clung to his leg, pleading desperately.
The bandit leader kicked her hard, sending her sprawling across the stones. “Away, old crone! You could not even poison them properly. Once I’ve finished with these two, I’ll send you to join your son!”
Yet before his words fully left his mouth, a silver needle shot through the air and struck him directly between the eyes.
The moment it pierced his brow, pain like lightning seared through his skull.
Caught off guard, he flew into a blind rage.
His grip tightened on the girl in his hand-
Then a blade flashed.
He could not evade in time.

Chapter 70 The Bandits‘ End
Furshed
The hand that had been choking Zoe was severed clean at the wrist.
Zoe, who had been fighting for air, fell hard onto the muddy ground.
Blood sprayed across her face and dress. She let out a terrified cry, but her first move was to crawl toward Carol.
“Grandmother! Grandmother, speak to me! Please, don’t frighten me like this…”
The kick had thrown Carol against a nearby stone bench. She lay still, unmoving.
Zoe wept uncontrollably.
Nearby, the bandit leader’s throat had been opened with a single swift stroke.
Theodore slid his blade back into its scabbard, his face devoid of expression. With a heavy thud, the large body collapsed at his feet.
And so, more than twenty bandits lay defeated.
The only one still drawing breath was the scarred man, still trembling from Margaret’s poisoned needle.
“No… No…”
The scarred man stared at the scene in anguish. “Boss… my brothers… Ah!”
He could not believe that in only a few moments, all of his companions had met such violent ends.
“You’ve wiped out my entire band! Every last one of us!”
He wailed, tears blurring the nightmare before him.
Margaret simply knelt in front of him. “You have more allies, don’t you? Tell me the truth–how many are left? Release every woman you’ve taken, and I will let you live.”
“Pah!”
The scarred man spat. “Who do you think you are? A mere girl thinks she can threaten me? My brothers are everywhere. You killed so many today–tomorrow, the others will come for vengeance.
“Mark my words. Behind me stands the Spirit Shade. From this day on, the two of you will live in constant fear. I will be waiting for you in hell!”
As he spoke, blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, yet he laughed like a man possessed.
