Chapter 92 Chasing Impossible Dreams
Ruby pouted, “I understand.”
Finished
The young noblewoman said in a quiet tone. “We ladies born to warrior noble houses need not stoop to petty catfights like other sheltered gentlewomen. I’ve never cared for those shallow, manipulative tricks- and I never will.”
Ruby nodded quickly. “You’re absolutely right. Those two sisters could never hold a candle to you, not even for a moment. Everyone knows they’ve long abandoned their sisterly bond for selfish gain. They once fought tooth and nail to marry Crown Prince Christopher, and now they’ve set their sights on Prince Theodore, too. Their behavior is truly shameful.”
“They pretend to be skilled doctors, barging into others‘ homes under the guise of grace–we would never lower ourselves to such cheap tricks.” The lady’s voice stayed soft, yet her words held cold, unyielding sharpness.
Ruby said firmly, “That’s the truth. Once Prince Theodore sees how useless Margaret truly is, he’ll punish her harshly. No one in Breston has ever heard of her having healing skills before. She’s just putting on a false show to fool everyone.”

Back at the Prime Minister’s Estate, Margaret headed straight for her private courtyard the moment she stepped through the gates.
She had barely walked halfway across the manor grounds when a figure stepped out and blocked her path.
Jasper stared at her with a dark, sullen look. “You finally decided to come back?”
Margaret furrowed her brows.
I only stayed out one night. Why does he sound like I’ve been gone for ages?
She had no wish to argue with Jasper and moved to step around him, but he suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist tightly.
Jasper questioned sharply. “Whose cloak are you wearing?”
Margaret replied plainly, “It belongs to Prince Theodore. What of it?”
Jasper’s eyes widened in shock the second he heard the name. “Prince Theodore? How could that even happen?”
“You’re wondering where I stayed last night, aren’t you?” Margaret cut in. “Guards from the Ducal Palace came for me–they asked me to heal Prince Theodore. Some trouble happened afterward, so I stayed at his residence for the night. You may go ask him yourself if you doubt my word. I’m exhausted, and I’m going to rest.
She tried to pull her arm free, but Jasper held on tighter, his face twisted with worry. “Do you hear how reckless you sound? A young lady staying out all night–do you think that is a trivial matter?”

Chapter 92 Chasing Impossible Dreams
“I only left to save someone’s life with healing care. How is that a reckless mistake?” Margaret asked,
Frihed
Jasper ground his teeth in frustration. “I know you better than anyone. Growing up, you never studied healing texts. The only time you ever glanced at medical notes was to treat Crown Prince Christopher’s injured leg. You have no real training in medicine at all. Where did you suddenly get the skill to cure Prince Theodore?
“He doesn’t know the truth about you, so he mistakes you for a gifted doctor. You need to set the record straight at once. He owes you a life debt from that mountain incident, so he would overlook this mistake. But if you keep lying about your healing skills, the truth will come out eventually–and it will cost you your life.”
Margaret grew utterly annoyed, drained by his endless lecturing.
Jasper kept pressing on, his tone stern and unrelenting. “I don’t know why you came back wearing his cloak, but you need to face reality. Your healing talent is a complete lie, your looks are plain, you lack grace in all noble arts, and your temper is far too harsh. Prince Theodore only sees a surface version of you. Once he learns the real you, your fate will be ruined…”
“Fine, fine.” Margaret said. “I’m useless in every way. If that satisfies you, let me go. I just want to sleep.”
She wrenched her wrist free once more.
Jasper reached out to grab her again.
Margaret snapped at him, frustration boiling over, “Will you ever stop this?”
Jasper burned with anger. “Do you have any idea how many people stayed up late waiting for your return last night?”
“I never asked anyone to wait for me.”
“How can you be so thoughtless? A young lady’s reputation matters above all else. If word spreads that you stayed out overnight, your good name will be destroyed forever.”
“Who would spread such gossip besides the people in this manor?” Margaret let out a cold, bitter laugh.
