Chapter 305 The Hospital Protest
“Maybe we shouldn’t get any closer-they look really worked up.” Sophia said, peering nervously our window. The scene outside was unsettling.
“We’re not going to find out what’s happening by sitting in here,” Elena replied, already stepping out or the curb.
Reluctantly, Sophia and Hannah followed.
“This hospital is crooked! My daughter’s still in the ICU-what did you people give her?!”
“You’ve got to be kidding me! Come out here and explain yourselves!”
“Stop hiding inside and face us!”

here is praying their child pulls through. And the people responsible are still in there, hiding. If you really want to help, do something about that!”
Her voice broke as she gripped Elena’s arm, eyes red and desperate.
Elena understood that desperation-that raw, maternal fear. Softly, she replied. “If the hospital is ar fault we’ll report it. That’s what we’re here to do.”
“Of course they’re at fault. The Morgans… that whole family is corrupt. They don’t deserve to walk free, the woman muttered, almost to herself, her words dissolving into low curses.
Seeing they wouldn’t get anything more useful-and not wanting to upset her further-Elena signaled to the others that it was time to go.
They stayed near the scene for close to an hour, but no hospital representative ever came out to address the crowd. With emotions running too high, there was no one else they could safely approach for an interview.
Finally, they headed back to the office.
“Any luck finding out who the hospital’s main investor is?” Elena asked once they were inside. The situation was clearly more complicated than she’d anticipated.
“We’re still digging,” Hannah said. “The registered legal representative is a woman. She’s already been taken in for questioning by police. But from what I’ve heard… the real owner is someone else.”
Elena massaged her temples. “Okay.”
Just then, Sophia rushed in, holding her phone. “Elena, I got it!”
“Got what?”
“The owner behind Pinecrest Medical Center-it’s Quentin Morgan. He’s the oldest son of the Morgan family.”
Elena went still. “What did you say his name was?”
“Quentin,” Sophia repeated, not yet picking up on Elena’s reaction. She’d called in a few favors to get that information. “The Morgans have been in the medical field for generations. Quentin studied overseas and came back to open this place with family backing. It was doing well for a while, until… Elena, where are you going?”
But Elena was already grabbing her bag and heading out the door.
She got into her car and drove straight toward Haze Lounge, speeding most of the way,

A growing sense of unease settled in her chest. Before long she pulled up in front of the lounge. Even though it should have been open for the evening, the front was dark and the door locked She spotted Kieran’s Ferrari parked nearby. Without hesitation, she circled to the back entrance
