Chapter 32 Cracks Show
Seeing her like this today, Nathan suddenly felt irritated.
“We haven’t secured the shares yet. We’ve endured five years already, are you really going to ruin everything in the last month?”
His tone was impatient.
Camille clenched her jaw, wanting to bring up the recording, but if she did, Nathan would only resent her more. He might even rush back to Elena immediately.
She swallowed her anger and wrapped her arms around his waist.
“I know, I was wrong. I just didn’t want to be alone. Babe, it’s just the two of us here tonight…”
She rose onto her toes and kissed along his neck, her hand sliding to his belt.
The implication was obvious.
The desire he hadn’t been able to release with Elena, combined with Camille’s deliberate teasing, made Nathan’s gaze grow darker. He lowered his head and bit down on her lips.
“Easy… okay…”
Camille let out a soft sound, but the anger inside her didn’t fade at all. She couldn’t wait another month.
Being abroad before was one thing, but now she had to watch Nathan constantly trying to please Elena because of Charles, and she couldn’t take it.
If Nathan wouldn’t say it, then she would make Elena discover the truth herself.
In the middle of the night, Elena got up to grab a glass of water. Out of habit, she checked Instagram and started scrolling.
Just as expected. She saw something very interesting.
About an hour earlier, Camille had posted a photo. She was lying in bed in a revealing silk nightgown, her collarbone exposed, with clear love marks visible on her neck.
Beside her was a man.
His back was turned, so his face couldn’t be seen. But from the details, Elena could easily tell it was Nathan.
Looks like the recording she sent earlier worked. Camille was already getting impatient.
Elena tapped the screen and liked the post, making sure Camille knew she had seen it. Then she went back to bed and fell asleep comfortably.
The next morning, when she went downstairs, Charles, Victoria, and Victor were already having breakfast.
Seeing Elena come down alone, Victoria’s expression darkened. “What kind of wife sleeps in this late? Your grandfather is almost done eating.”
Before she could continue, Charles spoke with displeasure, “Young people are busy all the time. It’s rare for Elena to get a day off, let her rest… Where’s Nathan? He’s not up yet?”
All she could do was glare at Elena. What a manipulative woman.
Elena ignored her completely. She sat beside Charles and served him a bowl of chicken soup. “Grandpa, I’m really fine. Nathan cares a lot about the company. If you stop his work because of he’ll definitely be upset. He already told me in advance, I’m not mad.” me,
“Really?” Charles asked.
Elena nodded. “Of course. When have I ever lied to you?”
A trace of bitterness flickered in her heart.
Once, she truly wanted to be a good wife in the Hawthorne family, but Nathan and his family had pushed her too far.
“Alright.”
Charles relented. “If Elena says it’s fine, then we’ll leave it at that. But tell him not to bury himself in work all the time. He still needs to care about his wife’s feelings.”
“Of course.”
Victor and Victoria forced polite smiles.
Elena enjoyed her breakfast calmly. Her goal had already been achieved.
Victor and Victoria now clearly understood that if Elena was unhappy, Charles could sideline Nathan at any moment.
