Sham Marriage Quit Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 34

Chapter 34 Private Floor

There was steel beneath the manager’s smile. Camille understood she would not be getting upstairs today.

The entire city only had one bridal boutique she truly liked, and this was it.

She gave herself a graceful exit. “Fine. The first floor has beautiful dresses too. I’ll just look around down here.”

Her heels clicked sharply as she walked back down.

Elena listened until the sound faded, then quietly exhaled. She moved to the railing on the second floor, positioning herself behind a display gown so her body was hidden.

Below, Camille lounged on the sofa, legs crossed, looking perfectly at ease.

“Bring me the most expensive, most stunning gowns you have.”

Camille placed a black card on the table.

Elena recognized it immediately. It was Nathan’s.

The manager quickly signaled a staff member to bring over the catalog. “These are all in stock, designed by top international designers. Please take a look.”

Camille flipped through it.

Her eyes lit up. Every gown was breathtaking.

Watching from above, a mischievous thought surfaced in Elena’s mind.

She turned, intending to find Alexander, but the moment she did, she found herself caught in his gaze. He had moved beside her at some point. His eyes were fixed on her, deep and unreadable. Her heart skipped.

“What is it?”

There was a fleeting hint of amusement in his eyes, though his tone remained calm.

“Nothing”

How does he always show up out of nowhere?

She cleared her throat and smiled. “Can I borrow your name for a minute?”

Camille frowned and pointed to a deep V design. “Then that one.”

“Also unavailable.” The manager remained perfectly composed.

“What do you mean unavailable? What exactly do you have?”

The manager didn’t even blink, her expression perfectly composed. “Other than the two you picked, everything else is available.”

Camille just stared at her.

She drew in a slow breath and pointed to another gown. “Fine. What about this one?”

The manager studied it carefully, hesitation creeping into her expression.

“Didn’t you just say everything except those two was available?”

The manager gave her an apologetic look. “We do have it. I just want to be transparent. The last bride who wore that one went through a pretty ugly divorce right after the wedding. Some brides prefer something without that kind of backstory. Totally your call.”

Camille nearly choked. Is this woman messing with me?
