Whether it was an illusion or not, Liz momentarily felt that Remington and Ron's facial features were surprisingly similar. She blinked, and when she looked again, Ron suddenly puckered his lips and began to wail loudly. Large teardrops rolled down his face; he was clearly deeply wronged by Remington's shout. Liz had no time to ponder anything else. She quickly pushed Remington aside, lifted Ron out of the water, and patted his back to comfort him. "Don't cry, baby, don't cry. That man is too mean, we don't want him. Auntie will tell him to leave, okay? Go away, go away." She glared at Remington reproachfully. Remington's patience was already completely exhausted. If Liz hadn't been there, he would have smacked the kid's bottom by now. But seeing the child's tears and facing Liz's reproachful yet clear gaze, he couldn't vent his temper at all. He raised a hand and rubbed his nose. "You can't handle him on your own. Be good, Ron, Uncle won't yell at you anymore. Just cooperate and finish your bath. Look, Auntie is all wet because of you. What if she gets sick?" Remington reached out and pointed at Liz's clothes. Currently, Zion City's weather was fluctuating between warm and chilly. Liz was wearing a tight, thin sweater, and having it plastered against her body by the water was undoubtedly uncomfortable. But focused on comforting the baby, she hadn't paid it any mind. Ron followed Remington's gaze and looked at Liz. As if he actually understood, he stopped crying and sat obediently in Liz's arms. Liz lowered Ron back into the water, and the little guy didn't make a fuss again. But he was clearly one to hold a grudge. As soon as he sat in the bathtub, he twisted his little body around, turning his back to Remington and refusing to look at him. Liz lowered her head to stifle a laugh. The two of them sped up, finishing Ron's bath, drying him off, blow-drying his hair, dressing him in his little pajamas, and finally placing him on the bed. They were as exhausted as if they had just fought a war. Both Liz and Remington were also in a completely disheveled state, and when they locked eyes, they couldn't help but smile at each other. Liz tapped Ron's little nose. "Look at what you've done. Go to sleep quickly now, no more causing trouble." Ron, however, seemed reluctant to sleep. Lying on the bed, he looked from Liz to Remington, yawning but refusing to close his eyes. "He's still not sleeping. You go shower and change, I'll coax him." Remington's large hand reached out and directly covered Ron's eyes. Ron struggled, but the man kept his hand loosely over the child's eyes without letting go. Liz: "..." Was this his idea of coaxing a child to sleep? How could she feel at ease? "I'd better coax him to sleep. You..." Before she could finish, Remington interrupted her in a low voice. "Go shower and change, be a good girl." His eyes darkened as his gaze swept over her nearly soaked chest, and he raised an eyebrow slightly. "Or do you want me to undress you myself?" Liz felt as if his gaze contained real flames, nearly burning right through her clothes. She immediately headed straight for the bathroom. The woman slipped inside and locked the door without hesitation. Remington glanced over and clicked his tongue. When he turned back and moved his hand away, he found that Ron's big eyes were tightly shut—the child had fallen asleep in the blink of an eye. Remington chuckled softly and poked the kid's cheek. "Heartless little thing." It wasn't entirely clear who that comment was directed at, however. Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Liz took off her wet sweater and began running the bathwater. She suddenly remembered that she hadn't even texted Jerome to let him know she wouldn't be coming back so late. She had put her phone on silent at the hospital and didn't know if Jerome was pacing with worry. She pressed her ear against the door panel but couldn't hear any sounds coming from the bedroom.

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
