The third-floor corridor was quiet and elegant. Quinn, dressed in a sleek apricot dress, stood waiting for the man to come up.

Sure enough, moments later, a tall, broad-shouldered figure stepped out of the elevator at a leisurely pace.

He possessed wide shoulders and a narrow waist, his restrained aura carrying an undeniable, suffocating pressure.

It was the exact same man who had saved Leo from plunging off the second-floor balcony that night at the banquet.

He was the type of man who was impossible to forget once you saw him.

Even in the sheer chaos and panic of that night, she had perfectly committed his face to memory.

Standing by the window earlier, Quinn had recognized him instantly.

She couldn't believe the personal bodyguard Tara hired for her turned out to be him.

Tara really was her best friend; the woman knew how to pull strings.

He was the absolute perfect candidate. With his incredible reflexes, he would definitely be able to protect Leo.

Quinn's heart fluttered with excitement. As he stepped out of the elevator, she walked up to him, raised her eyes, and flashed him a soft smile.

"Sir, what a coincidence. We meet again."

Seeing the man's face up close again, she couldn't help but marvel at his features.

He had a handsome yet dangerously cold face, with sharp brow bones, deep, unreadable dark eyes, pursed thin lips, and a razor-sharp, hardened jawline.

His face was ruthlessly aristocratic, though entirely too frosty.

But she liked that. She felt a true bodyguard should look exactly like this—unsmiling and serious, providing a profound sense of security.

"Sir, what a stroke of luck. I had no idea the bodyguard I was hiring would turn out to be you. We truly must be fated."

Raymond stopped in his tracks, lowering his gaze to look at her outstretched hand.

He knew better than anyone that the woman in front of him was operating under a massive misunderstanding.

The Moretti family and the Hayes family were currently locked in a cutthroat rivalry. He was fully aware of Dante's pathetic little schemes against the Moretti corporation.

Before anyone could react, Leo's sweet, milky voice rang out. "Hug, mister!"

Quinn froze on the spot, her eyes wide with shock.

Perhaps, despite his young age, Leo could sense the toxic dynamic between her and Dante. Combined with Dante's constant absence and lack of affection, the boy had grown incredibly sensitive.

So, even when facing Dante, Leo rarely acted spoiled or actively begged for a hug.

Yet, with this total stranger whom he had only met once, he had completely dropped all his defenses.

He was actually seeking out his warmth with such profound intimacy.

Raymond stared down at the tiny dumpling clinging to his leg.

The boy was incredibly soft, and Raymond could even smell the faint, sweet scent of milk on him.

However, he had absolutely no idea how to deal with children, nor had he ever held one, so he just stood there, completely rigid.

Quinn snapped out of her daze and quickly called out to her son. "Leo, stop fooling around. Go play with Lydia. Mommy has business to discuss."
