She suddenly recalled a cheesy soap opera she had watched once.
Whenever the cheating husband bought gifts, he was too lazy to put in any effort. He would simply buy two identical designer bags—one for his wife, and one for his mistress.
It seemed Dante was playing by the exact same playbook.
Quinn grabbed the bag off the nightstand, walked over to the corner of the bedroom, and slid open her glass display cabinet.
The shelves were crammed full of designer bags, every single one of them a gift from Dante over the years.
How profoundly had he ignored her, to never even notice that she absolutely hated carrying luxury purses? She hadn't even touched the majority of them since the day he bought them.
But that didn't matter now. Combined, this collection was worth a small fortune.
Quinn snapped a few photos and immediately contacted a luxury reseller she found online. She packaged the entire collection and ruthlessly fenced them all at a forty percent discount.
The reseller was ecstatic. Within minutes, the boss personally arrived with a crew to haul the bags away. After verifying their authenticity, they gleefully wired three hundred thousand dollars directly into her bank account.
"You live such a charmed life, Mrs. Hayes! Your husband is so generous and adores you! You must be clearing out your closet so he can buy you an entirely new collection!" the boss gushed.
Quinn mentally rolled her eyes to the heavens but maintained a bright, totally fake smile as she spouted absolute nonsense. "Oh, absolutely. I sold all these bags because I'm in a huge rush to buy him a mahogany coffin."
Right after sending the reseller out the door, her phone rang. It was Tara.
Tara immediately checked up on her. "How are you doing today? Are you feeling any better?"
"Much better." Quinn choked up, a lump forming in her throat at Tara's unwavering support, her eyes growing slightly damp. "I owe you my life for last night."
"Are you really thanking me? What are you up to?"
"Nothing much. Just scrolling through social media."
Tara paused, asking cautiously, "Did you see that two-faced Vivienne's post?"
"Two-faced Vivienne" was Tara's favorite nickname for the woman, fully encapsulating her disgust for Vivienne's manipulative, damsel-in-distress act.
"Yeah."
"I don't even know what the hell she's bragging about!"
"There's really nothing to brag about," Quinn said, yanking the empty glass cabinet shut. "Dante gave me the exact same one."
Seeing his pathetic, teary-eyed expression, Quinn grabbed his little hand and brought him along.
Lydia quickly packed a baby bag with Leo's essentials and followed close behind.
Soon, they arrived at the exclusive Platinum Club.
Standing by the window and watching the entrance, Quinn's eyes quickly locked onto a tall, imposing figure.
In her experience, bodyguards loved wearing sharp black suits.
The man below was dressed in a sharp black suit, striding confidently past his car.
She subconsciously glanced at the logo of the car behind him—it was a cheap, budget-friendly electric vehicle.
It couldn't have cost more than fifteen grand brand-new. Totally in line with a bodyguard's salary bracket.
But when the man turned around and walked toward the entrance of The Platinum Club, Quinn froze.
It was him?!
