The piercing scream startled the people in the booth. Dante rushed out, and the color drained from his face when he saw Leo dangling in mid-air.
He instinctively bolted forward, all of his usual cool composure evaporating.-
Leo couldn't hold on much longer. His little fingers were slipping.
Quinn was already sprinting as fast as she could, but the distance was too great. In that moment, her heart felt like it had completely stopped.
In the nick of time, a tall, imposing figure darted out from the side.
The man moved like a gust of wind, wrapped in a cold, commanding aura. His actions were swift and ruthless.
Just as Leo's grip gave out, the man vaulted toward the railing, extending a long arm to snatch Leo's wrist while securely wrapping his other arm around the boy's waist.
With a powerful heave, he pulled Leo safely into the protective cocoon of his embrace.
The entire sequence was executed flawlessly, moving so fast he was practically a blur.
"Leo!"
Quinn snapped back to reality, stumbling forward as she threw herself at them.
She couldn't stop shaking. The sheer terror of the near-tragedy washed over her, her eyes rimmed with red.
The man who saved Leo had calm, profound eyes. He looked at Quinn, the icy edge in his demeanor softening slightly. "The child is fine."
Quinn took Leo from his arms, checking the boy from head to toe to ensure he was completely unharmed before finally looking up at the man.
The moment she looked at him, she was stunned.
The man possessed incredibly deep eyes, like dark jade submerged in a freezing pool.
When his gaze landed on her, it was calm, yet carried an intimidating weight that made it hard to meet his eyes.
Even after executing such a heart-stopping rescue, his posture remained elegant and composed. A faint layer of chill rested on his brow, naturally exuding an aura of unapproachable distance.
Holding the traumatized, sobbing Leo in her arms, Quinn looked at the man with unspeakable gratitude.
"Sir, thank you so much for saving my Leo!" He had saved her son's life, and she desperately wanted to repay him. "Could I get your contact information?"
"There's no need."
His tone was entirely flat. He rejected her offer cleanly, showing zero interest in fishing for a reward.
Before Quinn could say another word, the man turned and strode away.
A crisp, pleasant scent of cedar lingered in his wake.
Quinn stood frozen with Leo in her arms, staring in the direction he had vanished, her heart taking a long time to settle.
Before Vivienne could finish her sentence, Quinn marched over and slapped her hard across the face. "Keep your niece on a tight leash, Vivienne. If she comes anywhere near my son again, it won't end with just a slap!"
Her son was her absolute bottom line. Anyone who dared touch him had a death wish!
With that, she turned on her heel and stormed off with Leo, refusing to stay in that place a second longer.
She completely ignored a livid Dante standing behind her.

Meanwhile, after leaving the venue, Raymond Moretti climbed into the black Rolls-Royce Cullinan parked on the curb.
His assistant, Caleb Jenkins, hesitated before speaking up. "Boss, didn't you think that little boy's eyes looked exactly like yours?"
Raymond raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me?"
For powerful families like theirs, the elders often arranged for them to freeze their sperm in advance to secure the bloodline.
However, clinic security was notoriously strict. No one would dare use a sample without explicit permission.
Raymond shot his assistant a sidelong glance and scoffed.
"Stop watching those brain-dead soap operas. They're rotting your mind."
