Back at the Belvedere Gardens villa, Quinn gently laid the sleeping Leo onto his bed.
She sat by the edge of the mattress, cold sweat lingering on her back.
The sheer terror of tonight's incident still had her heart pounding.
Her son was her whole world.
She didn't dare imagine how she would survive if another accident happened.
Shaking off the thought, Quinn stepped out onto the balcony and dialed her best friend, Tara Moore.
"Tara, I need you to find me a bodyguard."
"He needs to have top-tier combat skills, a calm demeanor, tight lips, and above all, he must be able to keep a secret."
If she was hiring, she needed a true professional.
Tara was surprised by the sudden request and immediately demanded to know why.
Quinn calmly gave her a brief rundown of the terrifying incident.
On the other end of the line, Tara exploded with rage, cursing Dante and Vivienne to high heaven, calling them a miserable pair of troublemakers who never knew when to stop.
She even tore into Vivienne's spoiled, tyrannical niece, condemning the brat for being rotten to the core.
Finally, her anger melted into sympathy for Quinn, knowing how utterly terrified she must have been tonight.
"Don't worry, I'll find you the absolute best. I'll get back to you tomorrow."
Hanging up, Quinn turned to look at the peacefully sleeping boy on the bed.
With the divorce papers and property division agreement secured, all her backup plans were officially in motion.
Just as she was deep in thought, the faint click of the doorknob echoed from the hallway, and a second later, the bedroom door swung open.
Quinn hadn't looked at him since he stepped closer. "Leo was terrified. He was fussy for a long time, and I just managed to get him to sleep."
Dante frowned slightly. "Tonight was my fault. I shouldn't have let you and Leo get so scared."
Quinn replied coldly, "The one who should be apologizing is the culprit who pushed him."
Dante sighed. "She's only four years old. Do you really need to hold a grudge against a child?"
Quinn raised an eyebrow. "So, Mr. Hayes, did you come home just to tell me that we are dropping this entirely?"
"A child may be exempt from legal liability, but her guardian certainly isn't."
Vivienne was the one who brought the brat to the banquet. As her guardian, didn't Vivienne hold any responsibility?
Dante replied, "The Ambrose family has already grounded Vivienne as punishment."
"I've already warned Vivienne. She didn't do it on purpose. Let's just drop the matter."
