She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 100

After leaving Lakeview Ascend, Dominic followed Gregory back to the main office.

In the conference room, Gregory started by discussing company projects, but the conversation eventually veered toward Dominic's family matters.

"You saw it for yourself today. Your father-in-law, Nathaniel… he is crucial to the Hale Group… I don't care what the state of your relationship with Melanie is, but you must keep her stable…"

Gregory patted Dominic’s shoulder.

"Melanie might be a bit wild, enjoys meeting up with a boy toy or two…"

As Gregory spoke, Dominic’s hands clenched into tight fists.

"Just turn a blind eye… Women can be placated with a few gifts. The real goal is to use her to gain advantages for the Hale Group. Understand?"

"I understand, Dad."

Dominic nodded.

By evening, after the sun had set, Dominic finally left the company.

As he walked out of the office building, he found Evelyn standing at the entrance, holding Lila’s hand. They seemed to be waiting for him.

"Dominic, are you done with work?" Evelyn approached him, her voice soft.

"What are you two doing here?"

Before answering, Evelyn glanced at Lila.

Lila immediately held out a small cake to Dominic.

Dominic tilted his head, and Evelyn explained in a gentle tone, "Lila saw that you didn't eat much at lunch and was worried you might be hungry… So when I took her to get cake, she insisted on saving a piece to bring to you, no matter what."

"I can't believe how thoughtful and considerate Lila is…"

Dominic was so moved his eyes welled up. He swept Lila into his arms.

"Come on, Daddy's going to buy you a new princess dress."

Walking beside Dominic, Evelyn exchanged a look with Lila.

Fortunately… she still had Lila.

"Dominic, one is enough."

"Ah, well…" Dominic stammered awkwardly. "The other one… is for Melanie."

Evelyn's expression changed instantly.

But they were in a mall, and she had to maintain her gentle and understanding persona. Plus, Dominic had only just forgiven her for her past mistakes.

Unable to lash out at Dominic, Evelyn had to bottle up her anger, seething inwardly.

The three of them finished their shopping and had dinner at the mall.

Afterward, Dominic drove Evelyn and Lila home.

It was already late, and Lila was tired. She fell asleep in her car seat and was carried all the way to the master bedroom by Dominic.

Dominic hadn't planned on being intimate tonight.

There had been just too much going on lately.
