First, his company had gone bankrupt. Then, there was his wife getting tangled up with some boy toy. And to top it all off, he’d just gotten a lecture from his father.
Dominic felt exhausted.
He felt hollowed out, as if the day had stripped him of everything he had.
But as he stepped out of the master bedroom, he looked up and saw Evelyn, who had changed into her nightgown.
It wasn't just any nightgown.
It was a sheer, pink, lace-trimmed piece of lingerie.
Dominic’s throat tightened, his breath hitching in his chest.
“Evelyn…”
“Dominic…”
Evelyn purred, approaching him with a blush. She slowly knelt before him.
“Tonight… let me take good care of you…”
Dominic's eyes widened.
Evelyn had always been adventurous, but dressing like this and kneeling to serve him… this was a first.
A raw, carnal hunger flared within him.

After their passionate encounter, Dominic showered and quietly put on his outdoor clothes.
Before leaving, he peeked into the master bedroom.
Evelyn and Lila were both sound asleep.
He let out a long breath and carefully pulled the door almost shut.
The entire house was silent.
By the time Evelyn got out of bed, Dominic was already gone.
She took a look around the living room and noticed that the scarf Dominic had bought for Melanie was missing.
Evelyn gritted her teeth in hatred.
To think she had worked so hard to please him tonight, only for Dominic to sleep with her and then immediately take a gift to find Melanie.
“Melanie… Hale…”
Evelyn spat the two words through clenched teeth.
Meanwhile, Dominic was driving, an exquisite, high-end gift bag resting on the passenger seat.
Inside was the scarf he had bought for Melanie.
He didn't call Melanie.
Instead, he drove directly to the Eclipse Noir Club.
