She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 1106

"I'm so sorry! I think I want to look at a few other styles..."

"Of course."

The associate maintained her polite, professional smile, though the ravenous enthusiasm was noticeably gone.

As Daphne gathered the massive tulle skirt to retreat back into the fitting room, the disappointment radiating from her was impossible to ignore.

"How much is the dress?"

In a split second, Daphne, Melanie, and the associate all whipped their heads toward Everett.

He froze.

Honestly, he hadn't even planned to say it; the words just tumbled out of his mouth on their own.

It took the associate a moment to process the question before answering,

"With the grand opening discount, it comes to just over a thousand dollars. It's an absolute steal for an Italian designer gown, and she looks positively radiant in it."

Since he had already thrown the grenade, Everett had no choice but to brace himself and follow through.

"Alright, wrap it up."

Daphne's eyes blew completely wide at the declaration.

"Everett, what are you doing...?"

Her heart was hammering violently against her ribs.

She had only wandered in here high on the romance of her friend's wedding and gotten completely carried away playing dress-up.

She never expected him to drop his credit card on a literal wedding gown.

Could it be...

Daphne's pulse skyrocketed, her imagination running wild.

Was he secretly planning to propose to her soon?

Pinned under her starry-eyed, overwhelmed gaze, Everett ducked his head, entirely out of his depth.

Across the floor, the associate had already boxed up the dress in a pristine garment bag.

Everett walked over, swiped his card for the final amount, and initially handed the massive bag to Daphne.

But the moment the heavy garment shifted, he realized his mistake.
