She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 1160

A sudden, freezing gust of wind swept through the park, causing Melanie to let out a harsh sneeze.

"Sorry about that. Did I scare you?" she asked, pulling a tissue from her purse to dab at her nose.

Suddenly, a wave of warmth draped over her neck. Sebastian had taken off his own scarf and was gently looping it around her.

Before Melanie could even process the gesture, he had securely tucked the ends in.

She opened her mouth to refuse it, but a loud, obnoxious whistle cut through the quiet air.

Melanie turned to see Daphne and Sam approaching. Sam was the one whistling, looking entirely too amused by the scene.

Daphne knew Sam was teasing Melanie and Sebastian, and she wasn't happy about it. She furrowed her brow, wanting to tell him to knock it off, but hesitated since he was her idol.

In Daphne's mind, Sebastian was a great guy on paper, but she was firmly Team Preston. She just didn't trust Sebastian enough; he was too much of a wild card. Sure, Preston was intense, imposing, and shrouded in an intimidating aura, but Daphne knew one thing for an absolute fact: Preston's love for Melanie was terrifyingly real. It had nothing to do with his wealth or his looks. Daphne had seen the raw, consuming emotion in Preston's eyes whenever he looked at Melanie.

Other men were just intrigued by her. Preston was devoted. For that reason alone, Daphne backed him a hundred percent.

Sam, however, had no idea Preston Whitmore even existed. After finishing their meal, he had walked Daphne down the avenue, only to stumble upon Melanie and Sebastian. He had just watched Sebastian gracefully take off his scarf and wrap it around Melanie's neck while she was sneezing.
