She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 197

Afraid of waking her, he moved with the gentle care one would use for a priceless, fragile object.

Melanie slept without a single dream, all the way until morning.

When she opened her eyes, she found herself in the Master bedroom's large bed, covered with a soft comforter, the corners neatly tucked in.

And Preston, still in his suit, was slumped over the side of her bed, a position that looked far from comfortable.

Melanie felt a strange flutter in her chest.

The bed was certainly big enough. If Preston was worried about her sleeping alone, he could have just slept on the bed with her. At least that would have been more comfortable than sleeping slumped over the side.

But if he had, even if nothing happened, they would have been sharing a bed.

Melanie's cheeks grew slightly warm.

Just as she was about to wake Preston, her phone buzzed. It was a text message from Daphne:

[The P.I. is in position. Your scumbag husband just entered the amusement park with his mistress and their illegitimate daughter.]

Looking up, Melanie realized it was already Saturday.

The newly opened amusement park was bustling with noise, punctuated by deafening screams from the rides.

Lila skipped along happily, while Evelyn beside her was all smiles and laughter.

She had originally planned to use Lila as an excuse to demand Dominic take them to the amusement park.

She never expected Dominic to suggest it himself, telling them to go have a fun day out.

Evelyn was filled with smug satisfaction.

So what if Dominic was pretending to be a loving husband to Melanie lately? In his heart, he still cared about her and Lila.

Seeing that Evelyn and Lila were happy, Dominic felt relieved.

He didn't tell Evelyn that it was Melanie's suggestion for him to take them out. He knew Evelyn had a misunderstanding about Melanie and didn't want to upset her by bringing it up.

With a wail, Lila burst into tears.

“You owe me an ice cream! Pay for my ice cream! I want my ice cream!”

Lila’s tearful howls drew a crowd of onlookers.

“Lila, are you okay? Please stop crying.”

Dominic immediately picked Lila up to comfort her.

“Daddy...” Lila sobbed, gasping for breath as she pointed at the woman covered in ice cream. “This lady... she knocked my ice cream over.”

Hearing Lila's words, Dominic immediately glared at the woman.

“This ice cream was a limited edition. It was the last one, and now it’s ruined. What are you going to do about it?!”

Faced with Dominic’s accusation, Hazel Carring crossed her arms and laughed in exasperation.
