She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 289

About ten minutes later, the crew brought both Melanie and Elina back on board.

They had narrowly escaped a perilous situation, and Bryant was so emotional he was on the verge of tears.

He wanted nothing more than to run over and give Melanie and Elina a huge hug.

But he had to restrain himself.

Elina had swallowed some water, and Melanie was physically exhausted. Both were wrapped in large blankets and immediately placed on stretchers to be taken to the ship’s infirmary.

Melanie was still conscious when she first entered the infirmary. However, for some reason, she soon grew drowsy, closed her eyes, and fell asleep.

Bryant waited outside the infirmary, burning with anxiety.

After a while, a doctor in a white coat and a large mask emerged, with Elina by his side.

“Elina, how are you?!” Bryant asked nervously, pulling her into a hug.

“Thankfully, she was rescued in time. She’s mostly fine. I’ve already examined her. She has some minor injuries, but it’s mainly the cold and the shock. You should take her back to your room to rest.”

“Okay, okay…” Bryant nodded repeatedly, clutching Elina tightly as if she were a precious treasure he had just recovered, unwilling to let go for even a second.

As the doctor turned to leave, Bryant’s voice suddenly called out from behind him.

“By the way, Doctor, what about Melanie? The lady who jumped into the river to save my daughter…”

The doctor turned his head slightly, his face still mostly hidden.

“Her injuries are more serious than your daughter’s. She needs to rest in the infirmary for a while longer.”

“I see…” Bryant said, looking reluctantly at the closed infirmary door.

But he couldn't disturb Melanie’s treatment.

Besides, Elina, huddled in his arms, was not in a good state. She seemed severely frightened and was still trembling despite being rescued.

In the end, Bryant left the infirmary entrance, carrying Elina back to his own cabin.
