She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 302

Melanie keenly noticed the change in Preston's expression, but she didn't hang up the phone. Bryant's voice, coming through the receiver, had an unusual seriousness and tension to it.

"Yes… right… you want to meet me now?"

Melanie's question made Preston's already cold face turn even icier.

"It's urgent, and I'm afraid I can't explain it clearly over the phone."

Bryant's tone didn't sound like he was making excuses to get closer to her.

Still, Melanie hesitated.

Across from her, Preston silently ate his beef noodles and drank his lychee soda.

The once fragrant noodles now tasted a bit off.

Just as he was about to finish his bowl, Melanie ended her call with Bryant.

As soon as she put her phone down, Melanie heard Preston ask bluntly, "Are you going?"

Melanie glanced up, feigning ignorance. "Going where?"

"To see Bryant."

Preston raised his eyes to meet hers.

Melanie's bright, shimmering eyes sparkled with a sly glint, as if she had already seen through his jealousy and was enjoying it.

"If I said I was going to see Bryant, would you stop me?"

"No," Preston answered without a second thought.

Melanie was taken aback.

Preston actually said "no"?

Melanie couldn't help but frown.

"It's the middle of the night, and I'm planning to ditch you to see your rival. You wouldn't try to stop me at all?"

Melanie couldn't make sense of it.

"Do you even genuinely like me?"

Seeing Melanie even slap the table and glare, Preston chuckled in spite of himself.
